"Excuse me?" she blinked, not entirely sure if she'd heard me correctly.
"I said you're too bloody loud Valleen...." I rubbed my head as I'd said it. I felt as though I were crashing from a high, my eyes burned, and my ears ached... Frankly, I felt like shit.
Valleen looked at me, her face betraying her offence to the comment. "You ought not complain so Nigel, you'll appreciate me, I promise." On that she smiled ever so slightly "and I'm not being too loud, you simply hear better now darling. If you focus it, you could probibly hear everyone downstairs..."
"AH! Bloody hell..." she was right, I did hear it, the entire mess of it. I brought my hands over my ears, trying to block it out, but it was useless. It was continual, like a loud buzz which I could not block, nor ignore. "I don't want to hear . For petes sake, is it so much to want some quiet? This is rediculous, how the hell do you put up with it?"
She smiled softly as she came near me and stroked my hair, "You'll get used to it Nigel... it will not seem so loud forever." Guiding me to my feet she allowed her gaze to meet mine. She had a twinkle to her eye- I could tell that she was happy. Maybe rediculously so... I thought it was sadistic at the moment, but then again I did not yet understand much of anything. I would learn though, and fast enough.
