Happily Ever After

Every night he comes to me
With open arms and a smile
Lending a shoulder to cry on
An ear to pour out my troubles to
His eyes are warm, sypathetic, caring
His smile soft, tender, loving
He carries me far away
To where the wildflowers bloom all year long
And I can be completely free
And we can live happily
For what I wish could be forever
But when the sunlight touches my face
He hugs me and then is gone
I wake with a tear in my eye
And, somehow, a smile on my face
I know he's only in my dreams
And it probably will always be that way
But still, whenever I see a shooting star,
My wish is that one day he'll come
And we can live happily ever after
