"Greetings, human. I am Kianara, and this is where the cats and Harnen live. Somebody-or-Other calls this one Stinker, but his name is Apollo." She looks slightly offended by his nickname. "He likes to play with string and feet. He is quite a lap-cat." He purrs loudly, then leaps out of her arms.
She scoops up a midnight-black cat. "This is Atremis, but Somebody-or-Other calls her Fuzzy. She loves to lie in the sun and, as Somebody-or-Other says, 'poke her nose where it doesn't belong.' Her fur is very soft, but she never sits still to be petted. As if to confirm that, the cat also jumps out of her arms.
She sits down again and sighs. "Somebody-or-Other is an enigma. In some ways she is admirable, a wonderful person. In others, she leaves much to be desired. She creates a whole world, allows stranger such as you to wander it, and fills it with jokes so obscure even she doesn't recognize them all! And her naeme! She never ceases to puzzle me." She sighs again. "In the garden you will find Harnen. He is a easily excited, but more intelligent than you would guess." She gets up again and begins grooming one of the white cats.
Curious, you venture out to the garden. Except for butterflies, it appears to be empty. You sit on the porch and wait, enjoying the peaceful spring air. You watch the butterflies dancing and notice one is larger than the others. You start to get up to get a closer look when it flies over to you and lands on your hand. It isn't a butterfly, it's a tiny winged horse!
As if it reads your mind, it snorts in comtempt and deliberately prances on your hand, its tiny hooves digging into your skin. Quickly you revise your thoughts: it looks like a tiny winged horse. It nods in satisfaction and flits away.
"I see you met Harnen," Kianara smiles. "He's a fairy pony. Well, you've seen everyone here. I guess you'll be leaving. If you touch that banner it will take you the realm of Vermifuge the Red. Hai unviel, emelii. Farewell." Then she turns and walks out to the garden.
