Artist Art Platten first started his painting career at the age of 50 and has gained international acclaim for his portraits. Art teaches oil painting classes at several Michaels Art and Craft stores in Southern California, as well as private lessons. Many of his students have won first and second prizes at the Los Angeles County Fair and the Orange County Fair. He was commissioned to do the background murals for building 7A of the Fairplex Los Angeles County Fair for their Expedition Earth 2000. 4,440 Sq Feet were painted. These murals were viewed by over one million people during the fair.
