I can't beleive that she is finally complete.   It took me eleven hours and fifteen minutes of carving.   I really slowed down toward the end and got very careful.   I hate to get almost done and accidentally chop off a hand.   I quess if I was REALLY good, I wouldn't have that worry.

I bought about twenty new paints and experimented with them for about four hours.   I painted wings over and over on a peice of wood and never really got a color pattern that I really liked.

I painted her first with a dark blue dress and decided that I didn't really like it.   Also, her face looked too angry.   So I carved off the face and repainted it.

Shaving off her face rounded it too much.   If I was to do this all over, I would give her more prominant cheek bones.   It was late and I wanted to get her finnished.   So, in desperation, I just started smearing the metalic acrylic paints on her wings and blended them together.   I was quite pleased with how the wings turned out.

Well, for my first faerie effort I am moderatly satisfied.   I learned a lot about how to improve my next one.   First of all, I am going to use my daughter as a model and start her off in the position that I want.....
