Below are all the therapists at the California Childrens Services Medical Therapy Unit at Sonoma School, in Modesto, CA. I missed getting pictures of some of them in wood before I painted them, but I have posted all that I have. First, of course, is the plain wood, then with paint, and then with the sealer/antique. I apologize to those that I have left out, or who feel that I could have carved them in a more flattering manner, with bigger this or smaller that......But, I am yet limited by my human falability.

I got the idea to carve all the therapists at the therapy unit when I went there one day and they were all dressed in white shirts and blue jeans. It was Taryns birthday and this is how she often dresses. I thought, "Wouldn't it be fun to see them all as angels." This was in about November of 2000. I started carving in January and finished in July. I must admit, I carved a few things in between.

This is Chris, the head therapist. I felt it was important to carve her first, since she is in charge, but I couldn't help my self...I carved Judy first.

This is Judy. I carved her first because she is.....not tall, and I wanted to do big hair and wings.

I carved Taryn next because I wanted to try to get a waivy hair apearance.

My original plan was to carve each of the therapists with something extra in their hand or with them, but after carving Martha with her two children, and found that it nearly doubled the carving time, I realized it would take years to carve them all if I individualized each of them. Charlynn is a fellow hiker, and I originally planned to carve her with a hiking staff.

Here is Martha. Her son goes to the school where the therapy unit is located, so he was often around. Also, she had her baby a while back and couldn't help bringing her in once in a while, so I had to carve them all together. I really liked the way this one looked while wood.

I was wanting to carve Audry pregnant, because she was sooooo pregnant. But, before I could get to her she had a sweet little girl.

Cathy is an O.T.   I couldn't wait to carve her because my favorite angels have blonde hair. (Yes, Honey, that's right, right after the red heads!)

Cheri is a therapy aid that has the most beautiful color of brown hair. I couldn't find paint to do it justice. She also has two children that attend the school, so I just had to add them in.

Christine, like me, is a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. (The Mormons) And as such, we don't believe that angels really have wings. So Christine was the only therapist that knew of this project. I had to ask her if she wanted wings on hers. She told me that she was a traditionalist, and while she knew that they really didn't have them, she would like wings on hers.

Irene was also one of the earleir carvings. I have always liked to carve little angels with big wings, so I was motivated to carve her early on.

This is Kathy is the community health nurse that comes over from the county for all of the clinics. She always carries in a huge pile of medical charts and I tried to get the leaning over heavy burden appearance.

This is Laura. I got to carve her before she had her baby.

This is Margie, who is one of the most giving and selfless people that I have ever met. She truely deserves the title of Angel. She is also a fellow carver.

I realize that it was Gails parents that cultivated roses, but when ever I am in my back yard, working with my roses I think of her talking about them. I could have carved her with a loaf of her famous, (with me at least), chocolate chip pumpkin bread, but who would have recognized that for what it was?

This is Marty. We have a mutal patient that repeats herself over and over. So I titled this one Hey Marty, because she has heard that phrase so many times.

Ella es Mary. Es puertoreqeuño. Ella trata todos los dias de me enseñar de hablar español. Mary tells me today, (11/19/01), that she is not currently romantically envolved, but that she is interested in forming a long term relationship with a male angel. So, if you are male, age 25 to 35, five foot ten to six foot seven, of medium build, preferably of latin descent, able to make and keep commitments, are kind to small animals and children, non-smoker, and body builder, please forward your e-mail address via this site. Mary's interests are romanitc candle lit dinners, bare foot walks on the beach, sky diving and WWF.

This is Robin. I have already mentioned that I am partial to long blonde hair, so it was fun carving hers.

This is Sandy who has been an associate and friend for many years. Sitting for three to four hours carving someone gives you a chance to really think about how special they really are.

This is Sherry. She is very in to gardening, and knows stacks more about it than I ever will. My entire garden is five half wine barrels. But we always share how our gardens are doing, summer and winter. I was going to carve her with a tomato in he hand, but again, that would have been hard to recognize.

This is Suzanna. She has recently left the therapy unit and was the reason I finally finnished the project. She was about to leave and I really wanted to carve her long graceful neck, and give her the angel before she left.
