TV shows as inspiration: Rob Baur, a water-treatment systems analyst, is living out an episode of The Simpsons. A 1999 episode details Homer's exploits with his radiation-grown hybrid: tomacco. Baur has found a possibly radiation-free method of producing the potentially addictive plant. A research lab has confirmed the plant's nicotine content but must wait until the next harvest of the botanical wonder to examine its possible toxicity. Baur confirms being inspired by a 1959 study published in textbooks as well as the infamous Simpsons episode.
