Tonight on Girl’s Night Out, we didn’t go out. Instead we stayed at my place and hot-tubbed and chatted before whipping up a feast of garlic shrimp and slices of cantaloupe, strawberries, and blueberries.
I finally told them about you, you my penpal lover of months and months. Hate to say this, but your report card came up with lots of U’s and “needs improvement.”
Actually my friends were more concerned that I would consider being with you. “Why?” They asked.
They don’t know about our endless nights. Our nights when we are totally together, swimming inside of one another’s brains. The intensity. How I can literally feel you...from the first kiss to when you slip between my aching thighs. How happy you make me feel.
I did not tell them that part. Until you experience it, you can’t imagine what it is.
But they are concerned with the abstractness of our relationship. “What is his name?” “Where does he live?” “What does he do?” “Where does he work?” I had no answers beyond broad generalities...Rollins, Iceland, something word-related, don’t know.
When they heard that you already have a woman, they died.
I defended us by saying, “He spent my b-day month with me, He was there from Thanksgiving through New Years. I talk to him once a week.”
”On the phone?” they asked. I looked downward and said, “No, online...type-talking.”
”And did he send you a present for Christmas? for your b-day?” “Yes and no.”
”Have you planned to meet?” “Will he fly here? or you there?”
”No.”
“Then you have nothing. There isn’t a “relationship." It is just in your imagination.”
