Hey all - yes, I and my beloved comic are still around. Last Wish will be finished next year, and after that a big old collection of the final comic will likely be pimped to the Xeric folks and other lucky comics industry types...like yourselves! So until then enjoy the other fine offerings this underdog artform has to offer and make this summer a summer to remember. Bye for now!

What up, peoples? Firstly, you should all check out True Porn asap, it really is a fine collection of work. Second, I'm happy to report that the end is in sight for Last Wish. Issue 3 is a bit more than half done, and the 4th and final volume will be complete by the end of next year. For a while now I've planned six issues, but the time has come to finish Moe's story and move on to new material, so four issues will have to do. Actually, what I have planned should make for a fine conclusion, one not too different from what I've intended all along. I for one can't wait to see it.

The Last Wishes That Might Have Been section (found in Comics) now has a few scenes that were cut from the first two issues. No dialogue, but surely still of tremendous interest to comics art historians everywhere.

 6/11/03

Looks like True Porn will be shipping this October, distributed by Alternative Comics, no less! And with a swell cover by James Kochalka and James Sturm to boot. True Porn collects new sex autobio comics of Ivan Brunetti, FC Brandt, Ellen Lindner, Laurenn McCubbin, K. Thor Jensen, myself, and other people who've had sex. Do whatever you can to obtain this book, which will surely be remembered as 2003's top comics anthology.

The pencils for the third issue are done and inking has begun! This halfway-to-the-end issue of Last Wish will be 38 pages long, and available for the first time anywhere at SPX.

The Review section has been updated with some recent reviews from the fine folks at Zine World.

Greetings! Welcome to the new Last Wish website. The site has been redesigned to be friendlier to those of you with smaller monitors and easier for me to update and maintain. Work on Last Wish 3 is cooking right along. Other than that, I guess not much is new. Except for the exciting announcements and such that will be appearing on this site in the coming months. I'm pleased to make one such announcement right now - I'll be attending this year's SPX show in Bethesda, MD. I urge any and all to attend.

 9/15/02

New reviews for the latest & greatest issue of Last Wish are now available via the Comics section.

7/13/02

The mighty Jim Hanley's Universe now carries the also mighty Last Wish part two. Copies from Jim's store offer the reader an intangible someting extra you can enjoy for years to come...NYC magic!

6/24/02

GREETINGS! No updates in forever due to Tremendous Personal Upheaval, but I'm looking to get back on track on issue 3 soon. Couple months soon, but soon never the less. Also, no conventions for me for the forseeable, but part two is still available via this site and soon at finer comic shops near you. A reprint of issue one is still a ways off due to a cash crunch. Speaking of Last Wish 1, the venerable Reader's Guide to the Underground Press (aka Zine World) gave it a smashing review in issue 17. Aside from that, look for me in 2003 in True Porn, an anthology of comics about the true sexual encounters of cartoonists. You buy!

4/7/02

The first printing of part one is now sold out. The issue will be reprinted in time for the Mocca show in June.

3/5/02

More big news! The second issue of Last Wish is now available for ordering in the newly revamped Comics section!

I'm really low on copies of Part One, so you might want to e-mail me before you order. I'll get more made up soon. Plenty of copies of issue two to go around, though.

3/1/02

Have a look at some really old Last Wish artwork in the new Last Wishes That Might Have Been gallery in the Comics section.

2/19/02

BIG NEWS! As big as it gets on this website, I guess: A seven page preview/sampler of issue two is now available in the Comics section. These are the very first pages of the second 32-page issue that is right now completely finished but waiting on some big money to help pay for production costs. More hype & hoopla once the issue is actually available. In the meantime, please enjoy this new teaser.

Rick Bradford gives Last Wish a nod in the latest (and last for a while) edition of his online zine Poopsheet. Buy a comic listed on his site and boost his morale today...there's lots of great stuff.

I'm all signed up for two shows this year, the MOCCA Arts Festival in NYC and SPX in Bethesda, MD. For the love of comics - attend or otherwise participate in these fine events, won't you?

12/23/01

Fans of finer comics in the Worcester, MA area should look for Last Wish on their next trip to That's Entertainment. Thanks to Dave for stocking his shelves with Moe's offbeat adventures.

12/7/01

Another month, another good review - this time from our friends at Almost Normal Comics. What could be nicer?

In other news, work on Part Two proceeds well. Everything still looks on track for a February printing, and I think it will be worth the wait.

11/14/01

There's a swell new review from Eyeball Magazine in the Comics Section. Give Eyeball a look at your local seedy alternative media venue - it's an awfully slick mag and the writers seem to know a thing or two about the comics scene.

10/31/01

Boo!

The offbeat culture lovers at Confounded Books were kind enough to mention Last Wish in the Nuevo y Bueno section of their website! It's transcribed in the Reviews portion of the Comics Section.

10/26/01

NEW E-MAIL ADDRESS! Due to goofy changes in the way of doing things at Hotmail I've set up a new e-mail account - lastwish@twcny.rr.com. Please send any future e-mails to this new address. Thanks!

10/24/01

At long last the pencils for part two of Last Wish are finished!

10/8/01

For your information, Quimby's in Chicago and St. Mark's Comics in NYC are now carrying Last Wish. Thanks to Liz and Vanessa for helping to get the books in these great stores.

9/28/01

West Coast Expansion: Two more great shops now have Last Wish: the legendary Comic Relief in Berkeley, CA and the preconception-shattering Confounded Books in Seattle, WA. Sources indicate the books are even selling, so act now! Thanks, Rory & Brad!

In other news, Ghost World has finally come to the sticks! Can't wait to see it tonight.

9/25/01

Who is this Adam Berenstain? Find out for yourself in this lengthy interview conducted by Darren Schroeder of Silver Bullet Comics.

8/8/01

We now have reviews, thanks to the people at Your Flesh and Silver Bullet Comic Books! You can check out what they have to say about the first issue of Last Wish in the Comics section.

7/30/01

Attention NYC! Gentleman Jim Hanley now has Last Wish on the shelves of his famous store. Help him get rid of a few on your next trip to Jim Hanley's Universe, won't you? Thanks Jim!

7/19/01

Killer Baltimore shop Atomic Books is now carrying Last Wish on their hallowed shelves (on their site it's in the Alternative Comics section of their July 14 New Releases). All those in Maryland are urged to check out a copy on their next trip! Big thanks to Rachel Whang for making it happen! Thanks Rachel!

7/14/01

Let's see...this update brings a few important changes to the site. I now have a P.O. Box address set up and awaiting orders and mail, and a seven page preview of the first issue of Last Wish is now available for scrutiny. It's all in the Comics section!

6/23/01

GREETINGS! Welcome to the Last Wish website!

Last Wish is very much a work-in-progress comic book project - the first issue is available now and the second should be done in early 2002. After that, there will remain an estimated five more books to finish. My plan is to produce at least two books a year until the whole story is told. In the meantime, this News section will feature any and all updates about the comic, the website, reviews of either, my convention trips, etc.

To learn more about the story (and to even maybe buy an issue), head over to the Comics section. You can find out a little about where the story is headed, what abandoned drafts were going to be like, and how you can have Last Wish delivered right to your door.

Beyond that, I can only implore you to attend this year's Small Press Expo in Bethesda, MD this September 14-16.
