In the Ukrainian egg-making tradition of pysanky, the horse symbolizes endurance,
speed, and the motion of the sun as it is pulled across the sky by a horse.
Not yet old enough or strong enough to do its job of pulling the sun, this
small pony is framed by flowers, which represent its blossoming beauty and
grace. Made from glazed red earthenware clay, the back of the piece displays
the artist's signature stamp and the LQP chop mark, 1 1/4".
