EXPRESS IT

FOOD FOR THE MIND AND SPIRIT

THIS PAGE IS DEDICATED TO SJSANGELS SUPPORT GROUP
AND THIS POEM IS IN THEIR HONOR
AND FOR ANYONE ELSE WHO IS SUFFERING FROM THE PAIN OF A CHRONIC ILLNESS
WRITTEN BY WANDA M R GARRETT FROM MY HEART.

LIFE IS TO BE CELEBRATED AND LIVED TO ITS FULLEST.

WE WILL MAKE IT

Some of us stumbled into the new year,
filled with hopes and dreams,
Some of us crawled into the millinium,
filled with pain, and oh how we screamed,
Some of us walked into the new year,
stronger then before,
Some of us eased on in the new year,
to take on all that is in store,
Some of us ran into the new year,
painless and tension free,
Some of us battled until the 31st,
and stayed on bended knee,
Some of us had to be carried,
and that is not a bad thing,
Just to be alive in the new year,
and rejoice with the King of Kings,
We all had our up and down days,
but guess what we made it through,
And I am convinced that there is nothing,
God and me can't do,
We may not be as strong as before,
we might not be able to run,
But we can draw strength from Him,
who sits high, God's only Son,
Some of us had to sing precious Lord,
let it be, let it be,
And still others kept their spirits high,
and laughter was their key,
While still some had to be carried,
and tucked into a bed of love,
While visions of angels sang to us from above,
A new year some have tears,
and some will just look with pride,
Some are dry, but still we can cry,
because still inside we are alive,
Some of us with canes walk tall,
and some slowly march ahead,
Some still have loving partners,
and a place to lay our bowed down heads,
So we will go into the new year,
with pains brought from the year before,
And some with joints on fire,
and increased symptoms by the score,
But when we look around us,
there are still some worse off than we,
While some may be battling cancers,
we say God I thank you that could be me,
We must take on a positive look,
for the days and months ahead,
We must all band together,
with information we must be kept fed,
The road is rough and may get tough,
but with each other we will make it through,
We are a family, a circle unbroken,
and my friends there is nothing we won't be able to do,
So inside us all, stands a warrior tall,
Ready for the battles that will come,
So get ready and prepare your hearts,
For that is a mighty start,
and in our minds we will shine bright in the Son.
