In addition to the weekend local walks - the club is planning three UK outings this year to include:

A weekend in the Lake District in June including a climb up England’s highest mountain – Scafell Pike. We will be staying in the Ambleside Youth hostel. For those keen on less strenuous exercise there are is an alternative walk ample walking opportunities in and around the town.

A chance to climb Snowdon, Wales’ highest peak in July. We will stay in B&B accommodation in Caernarvon, with its impressive castle. This time for those keener on an easier passage to the top, let the train take the strain on the famous Snowdon railway

At the August bank holiday weekend there’s an opportunity to head north and spend a long weekend in Scotland to tackle UK’s highest mountain – Ben Nevis. On this occasion we will stay at the Youth hostel, which is right at the foot of the main path to the top of Ben Nevis. It is also only a short walk from the centre of Fort William.

Event of the year - In November it is the BIG one - a trip to the highest mountain range in the world - The Himalayas. The club has arranged a special rate to walk the spectacular Annapurna Circuit in Nepal!!!.

Check out our slide which will give you a little taste of the sights available on these fantastic trips.
