Between Muzeul Satului (next page) and Arcul de Triumf is Parcul Herastrau (Herastrau Park) -- one of many lovely gardens in Bucuresti. Walk through the flower gardens and greenhouse, or take a boat ride around the lake. (June/July 1998)

Two views of the beautiful Gradina Cismigiu (Cismigiu Gardens) in Bucuresti. Pronounce this cheesh-mee-JEE-yu. Among the attractions are a rowboat lake, the begonia gardens, above, and a sculpture garden of busts of famous Romanian poets and writers, below. (June/July 1998

The conservatory at the Botanical Garden, located across the street from Cotroceni Palace, the former home of Romania's royal families and now home to its presidents. (June/July 1998)

A lovely, tranquil scene at the Botanical Garden. Sadly, much of the Garden has fallen into disrepair. (June/July 1998)
