Since 2006 Bristol Japan Club has changed to a new venue for the Tuesday meetings. On the last Tuesday of every month the Japan Club takes place at Obento Japanese restaurant, 69 Baldwin Street, Bristol. Obento is next to St Nicholas Church, near Bristol Bridge.

When we have a special event, such as the launch night or the Okonomiyaki Party, there is a fixed charge but on regular nights entry is free. You don't have to order food but if you decide to eat there is a 10% discount on the menu prices for everyone attending the Japan Club. There is also a 10% discount on drinks.

Please note: there will be no Japan Club meeting at Obento in December.

Special Events
For our launch night at Obento in March 2006 we were treated to a feast of Japanese food with a selection of wines and sake to accompany it, all for the bargain price of £8.

Bargain Taxi Service
If you are travelling to/from anywhere in Bristol (BS1 to BS9 postal districts) you can also take advantage of a cheap taxi service organized by Obento. There will be a fixed charge of £2 per person each way for taxi travel. Taxis should be booked at least 3 days in advance through Suzanna Ho of Obento.
