The Lotus is a Buddhist symbol of innocence and purity, and was apparently the first flower to bloom at the beginning of the world. This has a certain meaning of the character of 'Nataku', who is technically pure and innocent - he kills because he was created to do it and knows nothing else.

All I know of Nataku is that he was either an ancient Chinese god or warrior. He had no soul, but a human body, so again this means he is very similar to CLAMP's 'Nataku'.
