Before starting the walk, be sure to look around the Museum and site of Segedunum. From the observation tower you can see a bird's-eye layout of the fort.

And here's a reminder of other small matters to see to before embarking on the first 15 mile section of Hadrian's Wall Path.

There were not so many pictures taken on this occasion at Segedunum - there was, after all, a little matter of an 84-mile walk to get on with -
