How Does This Affect Me?
In the world we live in today, pornography is everywhere. Whether you're watching the late night news or surfing the internet checking your email, pornography is something that has come to be a day-to-day frustration. It is something that has proliferated our media to the point where you can't "just change the channel", because it is on every channel. Likewise, you can't "just ignore the online pornography" because it is in your inbox, it is in pop-ups at the top of your screen, it is on bulletin boards - it is, once again, everywhere - and there is no way to successfully avoid it.
Pornography is a pervasive poison in this day and age, and one that needs to be addressed within our communities. How is it right that pornographers have more "rights" than you do? Than your family and your community do? Shouldn't you have "rights" too? Shouldn't you have the right to tell them that pornography is not something you want to be bombarded with in your daily life?
Shouldn't you be free to live in a world free from the objectification and dehumanization of your fellow human beings? How is it right that we live in a world where your children have to be audience to these things as well? How is it right that the governments that are supposed to be protecting us are using inconsistent, unreliable programs like CyberSitter as an excuse for avoiding proper legislation? You have a right to know and a right to take action.
We ask you to join us in our fight. You have a right to
take a stand against pornography. We encourage you to make your rights known. You can make a difference.
