Tenchi is very kinda and noble young man who grew up with his father, Noboyuki. His mother died when he was very young. Now, at the age of 17, he lives with his grand father Yosho and father at the Masaki Shrine.

According to Jurian Tradition Tenchi should marry Ayeka becoming King of Jurai in the process. Well... yeah, not many people would give up any opportunity such as ruling the most powerful Planet in the Universe, living the life of a King or having Ayeka as your wife. Tenchi is happy with his life on earth and wouldn't want to leave Earth, his Family and Ryoko.
