Playwriting gives the acting student an overview of the playwrights craft. This course is an excellent course for the actor who will acquire stronger skills in character interpretation and play analysis. Students who are aware of dramatic structure, conflict, complications, suspense, rising and falling action and climax can better fulfill the playwright's intentions. Students will construct and write scenes for classroom performance. Plot, and the functions of dialogue are covered, as well as the nature of dramatic action.
