Box Office will expose students to the basic elements that will combine to form the front of house staff. Students will learn program advertising, layout, and design, and the basics of theatrical marketing and group sales. Also, the function of the ushers and house manager will be discussed and students will then organize the ushering staff for the Festival of Shows. Students will assist in the design and production of the program for the season, and will be responsible for coordinating certain elements indluding the performer bios and booster sections. This course is an invaluable tool in expanding the students appreciation of theatre as both a business and an art. (Elective, 1 hr.)
