Install underground utilities, top trees, and relocate threshold of runway 2-20
Runway 2-20 is currently displaced because of a power line that lies next to Buena Vista Drive. This project will put the power line underground for 1000 feet to eliminate obstruction to the approach of runway 20. To make matters safer, the threshold will be relocated to provide the minimum clearance of 15 feet above the pavement over Buena Vista Drive. To move the threshold, the paint on the northern half of the runway will have to be removed and re-striped. There are also a few trees in the approach that will have to be removed or topped so they will not obstruct the runway.
