She and her family helped operate Platt-Gard Business University. She attended the First Baptist Church, and was a member of the W.C.T.U. and the McKinley Club. She was survived by a son, Erold E. Gard, Jr. and 4 grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband, E.E. Gard, Sr. Interment was at Memorial Park under the direction of Fleeman Mortuary.

ST. LOUIS, MISSOURI: Minnie Hazel Boozer Gardner died January 29, 2000 in St. Louis. She was born August 8, 1908 in Morrilton, AR to John Hampton and Caroline Brockman Boozer. She was a retired cook for the St. Louis Board of Education, and attended St. Philip's Evangelical Lutheran Church. She enjoyed traveling. Survivors include three nephews, Charles Foster, Anthony Foster and Ralph Foster; four nieces, Margaret Ford, Maxine Ingram, Emma McClennon and Wilma J. Foster; her great-nieces and great-nephews; her great-great nieces and great-great-nephews; and other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, William R. HILLSBORO, MISSOURI: Leona Reilly Gasche, 95, died March 19, 1999 at her home. She was born July 14, 1903 in Hillsboro to Philip and Katherine Yesberg Reilly. She was an elementary school teacher in Byrnesville, Plattin, and Hillsboro, and gave 36 years of service to Jefferson County farmers via federal farm agricultural programs. She attended Hillsboro United Methodist Church, and was involved with several historical organizations. She is survived by her nieces and nephews; her cousins; and her friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond F. Gasche; and her parents. Interment was at Hillsboro Cemetery under the direction of Robert D. Brown Funeral Home.

NEW HAVEN, MISSOURI: Philip J. Gastreich, 76, died July 31, 2010 in Fenton, MO. He was born December 19, 1933 in St. Louis to Philip J. and Marie Roeder Gastreich. He was a millwright at Granite City Steel in Granite City, IL, and had also worked at National Lead Co. in Lemay. He attended Assumption Church New Haven. Survivors include five daughters, Debbie Benson (Alvin) of Potosi, Ronda Tayon of Jefferson County, Lisa Glandt (Todd) of Washington, and Pam Smith and Yvonne Kajszo (Dennis), all of St. Louis; a sister, Marie Harrington of St. Louis; 12 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and 2 great-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Norine V. Kemper Gastreich; his parents; and a grandson, Gene Antwon Miller. Services were held at Assumption Church. Interment was at New Haven Cemetery by Toedtmann and Grosse Funeral Home.

She worked for International Shoe Company and the Lutheran Good Shepherd Home, and was a member of Holy Cross Lutheran Church. She is survived by a sister, Florence Schnackenberg (Robert) of Aullville; a brother-in-law, Ernest Scharnhorst of Concordia; and her nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Russell Gault; her parents; two sisters, Alice Maggert and Frieda Scharnhorst; and a brother, Rev. Alfred Freund. Survivors include his wife, Marcia Pounds Geatley; five children, Steven (Sara) Geatley of House Springs, Jane (Richard) Dodds of Port Republic, MD, and Janet (Tim) Wilmore, (Michele) Geatley, and Susan (Steve) Clark, all of Cedar Hill; two siblings, Joan (Joseph) Jost of Lake St. Louis, and Donald (Hally) Geatley of Byrnesville; 9 grandchildren; three brothers-in-law, Jim (Nancy) Pounds of Bowling Green, KY, and Ben Franken and Cliff Goettelman, both of High Ridge; and other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by a son, Mark Geatley; his parents; three siblings, Rose Marie Franken, Lucille Goettelman, and Margaret Wille; and a brother-in-law, Donald Wille. He was a tank gunner with the 12th Armored Division. GLADSTONE, MISSOURI: Eldon Gladow, 90, died June 1, 2011. He was born September 20, 1920 near Alma, KS. He was a graduate of Kansas State College with a degree in flour milling science. He retired from General Mills, and was consultant to the company's eight flour mills. He was a member of the Association of Operative Millers, and had served on their Technical Committee for many years. He was also a member of the Northland Seniors Golf Association, and the Lutheran Church, Missouri Synod. He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Irene Gladow; two daughters, Mary (Richard) Newkirk of Manhattan, KS, and Gay (Rod) Fischer of Springfield, IL; a son, Steve Gladow of West Des Moines, IA; two sisters, Nyla Stuewe of Norton, KS, and Veryl Logan of Jacksonville, FL; two brothers, Dean Gladow of Emporia, KS, and Wes Gladow of Salem, OR; and 5 grandchildren. Services were held at Holy Cross Lutheran Church. Arrangements were handled by White Chapel Funeral Home.

JACKSON, MISSOURI: Margaret Glastetter, 63, died November 26, 2007 at her residence. She was born July 11, 1944 in Cape Girardeau to William Loy and Louva Marie Allen Devore. She worked in the environmental services department at Southeast Hospital, and had also worked for International Shoe Company. She was a parishioner of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, and was a member of the Town and Country FCE Club. She was active with the Cape County Democrats and the Cape County Relay For Life, in addition to being a supporter of Jackson High School and the St. Louis College of Pharmacy volleyball and basketball teams. She is survived by a daughter, Chrissi Glastetter of St. Louis; a stepson, Don Glastetter Riley of Wood River, IL; a brother, Don (Jean) Devore of Jackson; a sister, Lois (Dick) Seabaugh of Jackson; and her nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents. Services were held at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. Interment was at Russell Heights Cemetery by McCombs Funeral Home.

GLENNON, John Cardinal
ST. LOUIS, MISSOURI: Cardinal John Joseph Glennon, 83, died March 9, 1946 in Dublin, Ireland. He was born June 14, 1862 in Kinnegad, Ireland to Matthew and Catherine Rafferty Glennon. He was educated at St. Finian's College, St. Mary's College, All Hallows College, and the University of Bonn. He was a priest for 61 years and a bishop for 49 years. He was ordained to the priesthood on December 20, 1884 and served with the Diocese of Kansas City, later becoming rector of the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception. He was Coadjutor Bishop of Kansas City, becoming one of the youngest bishops in the Catholic Church at that time. He served as the titular bishop of Pinora and as an assistant at the Pontifical Throne. He want on to become the Archbishop of St. Louis, and aided in securing a new building for the Cathedral of St. Louis. He was active with Kenrick (now Kenrick-Glennon) Seminary, and purchased large amounts of land to donate to Catholic homesteaders in rural Missouri via the Colonization Reality Co. He was appointed to the College of Cardinals when he was in his 80s, and was named Cardinal-Priest of San Clemente. He passed away while coming home from the ceremony. SSM Cardinal Glennon Children's Medical Center is named in his honor. Services were held at the Chapel of All Souls at St. Louis Cathedral, and also in Dublin. Interment was at the Cathedral Basilica of Saint Louis.

She worked for the Advertiser-Courier and Graf Printing Company for over 30 years, serving as associate editor of the newspaper and secretary of the printing company. She formerly taught at Coles Creek School. She attended St. Paul United Church of Christ. She was a member and former secretary of the Missouri Press Association, and also belonged to the Hermann German-American Club and the Hermann Hospital Auxiliary. She was a volunteer with Hermann Hospital's food delivery service and Historic Hermann. Survivors include her husband, Julius J. "J.J." Graf; two daughters, Donna L. Carey (Gerald) of Blue Springs, and Karen M. Gillig of Kansas City; 6 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; and other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; three sisters, Erna Trippe, Edna Kottwitz, and Esther Kohlbusch-Dubrouillet; and four brothers, Raymond, Edgar, Edward, and Roy Heidbreder. She worked for Dr. Lowe for 25 years, and had also worked at Bothwell Regional Health Center, and as a regional county health nurse. She was a member of the United Church of Christ, and was past president of Church Women United. She was also a member of the Nurses' Association and Flat Creek Extension. She is survived by two nephews, Larry McDaniel and Gary McDaniel, both of Kansas City, MO; a niece, Deanna Atler of Colorado Springs, CO; and her cousins, including Herman Meisenheimer of Smithton, and Oscar Meisenheimer of Pilot Grove. She was preceded in death by her husband, Melvin Lee Gulick. Services were held at Immanuel United Church of Christ. Interment was at Memorial Park Cemetery by Heckart-Gillespie Funeral Home.

He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force, and served in World War II. He was a rose grower and shower, and was a judge for the National Rose Society, and the recipient of the outstanding judge award from the American Rose Society. He was a member and elder emeritus at the First Christian Church of Neosho, where he taught Sunday School and sang with the choir. Family members include his wife, Vera Taylor Hammonds (d. Genevieve Hospital Auxiliary. She is survived by two daughters, Joanne L. Murphy of Farmington, and Mary Ellen (Glennon "Chris") Cabral of Sainte Genevieve; two sons, Donald P. (Genny) Herzog of Dallas, TX, and John A. (Donna) Herzog of Sainte Genevieve; a sister, Anna Mae Drury of Nashville, TN; 4 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; and 3 great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Philip Herzog; her parents; and a sister, Marie Schilley. Services were held at the Church of Ste. Genevieve. CONCEPTION, MISSOURI: Rev. Matthew Heymann, O.S.B., 62, died January 20, 1976 in Kansas City. He was born in Remsen, IA. He studied at Trinity College in Sioux City and also at Conception Seminary. He took vows as a Benedictine monk in 1942, and was ordained as a priest the following year. He served as prefect of discipline at Conception Seminary. He was an electrician, and was superintendent of construction at Conception Abbey's new building. He was chaplain of Sisters Hospital in St. Joseph, MO, the Missouri State Training School for Boys, St. Joseph's Hospital in Kansas City, and the U.S. Medical Center for the federal prison system. He was survived by his stepfather, Walter Dixon. Services were held at Conception Abbey. Interment was at St. Columba Cemetery in Conception by Johnson Funeral Home.
