BOGALUSA, LOUISIANA: Reggie Guy Adams, 78, died December 2, 2003. He was a decorated World War II veteran, and retired from the State of Louisiana. Survivors include three daughters, Eva Roberts of Bogalusa, Laura Seals and husband Charles of Varnado, and Patricia Grantham and husband Marc of Bush; three brothers, Ray Adams of San Antonio, TX, Johnny Adams of Shreveport, and Joe L. Adams of Bogalusa; three sisters, Ethel Haik of Monroe, Bobby Grace Navo and husband Joseph of New Orleans, and Joan Campbell and husband Wardell of Sulfur; 3 grandchildren, Edward Dubuisson and wife Marcella, Adrienne Sanders and husband Jonathan, and Patricia Seals and husband Robbie; 5 step-grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert "Bob" Adams and Elmer Mae Robbins Adams; two brothers, James S. Adams and Brock Adams; and Doris Adams. MER ROUGE, LOUISIANA: Fred Erwin "Punk" Akers, 62, died January 9, 2007. He was a powerhouse maintenance employee for International Paper Co. He attended Mer Rouge Baptist Church, and was a U.S. Army veteran of the Vietnam War. He is survived by his wife, Karen Elaine Akers; four sons, Fred Stefan Akers and wife Alison of Brenham, TX, George Foster Adams and wife Monica of Montgomery, AL, Erwin Thomas Akers and wife Kelly of Collinston, LA, and Shawn Michael Akers of San Diego, CA; four sisters, Carol Ann Boyte and husband Larry of Monroe, LA, Dorothy Faustine Wilson and husband Ray of Oroville, WA, Faye Emily Risher and husband Johnson of Bastrop and Dennis Moss Akers and wife Lynn of Collinston; 9 grandchildren; and a great-granddaughter. He was preceded in death by his parents, Dennis Foster and Bernice Loraine Akers; a sister, Betty Jean Gilly; and a grandson, Aaron Akers. Services were held at Mer Rouge Baptist Church with Rev. WEST MONROE, LOUISIANA: Fred W. Amason, 81, died December 1, 2007. He was born born July 10, 1926. He is survived by his wife, Barbara Amason; a son, Fred Kennedy Amason and wife Haylea; daughters, Monica Minczeski and husband Tony, and Arden Amason Frost and husband Rock; 11 grandchildren; and a sister, Mary Farnsworth. ANZALONE, Frank Vincent, Jr.
MONROE, LOUISIANA: Frank Vincent Anzalone, Jr., 86, died on February 15, 2005. He was born October 23, 1918. He and his brother, Vincent, founded Star Hardware and Furniture Company in 1941, from which he retired in 1995. He attended Jesus the Good Shepherd Catholic Church and belonged to the Knights of Columbus. He graduated from Northeast Louisiana Junior College and served as a U.S Army paratrooper in WWII. He served in the Louisiana National Guard and retired as a Lt. Colonel in 1978. He was a member of various civic organizations, the Reserve Officers Association, and the American Legion, where he was a former Vice Commander. He was Past Commander of MOWW, First President of the JGS Parents Club, Former Scout Master of Troop 1 Boy Scouts of America, and AMVETS Past Commander. He was preceded in death by his parents, Frank, Sr. and Marguerite Zuccaro Anzalone; brothers and sisters, Anthony Anzalone, Lillian Anzalone, Emma Jungina, Josephine Anzalone, and Marie Comrato; and grandson, Benjamin Jones. Survivors include his wife of 57 years, Elaine Stuckey Anzalone of Monroe; children, Kay Cargel of Monroe, Frank Anzalone III and wife Patsy of Monroe, Diane Jones and husband Rex Jones of Seminole, FL, Peggy Clark of Monroe, Dr. Charles Anzalone and wife Connie of Crowley, LA, Ronald Anzalone and wife Gina of Brambleton, VA, and Dr. Gary Anzalone and wife, Cindy of El Dorado, AR; brother, Vincent Anzalone and his wife, Flo of Monroe; 14 grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. OLIVIER, LOUISIANA: Chester Archangel, Sr. died October 26, 2009. He was born October 17, 1918 to the late Jessie and Sadie Parker Archangel. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II. He was a longtime member of Little Zorah Baptist Church, where he served as chairman of the Deacon Board, and was a teacher and superintendent in the Sunday School department. He also visited the sick and shut-ins, and was involved with prison ministry. He is survived by his wife of over 60 years, Lucille Daniel Archangel; his children, Chester (Ethel) Archangel, Jr. of Shreveport, Jannette (Freddie) Hector, Glenda (T.A.) Jones of Lake Charles, and Rickey (Rene) Archangel of San Diego, CA; 7 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; his nieces and nephews; three brothers-in-law, Jules Daniel, Earl Daniel and Wilma Daniel, all of Orange, TX; his special friends, Louise Barlow and Shelby (Linda) Green; and other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; and eleven siblings, Linzer Archangel, Mary Norbert, Martha Nickerson, Mitchell Archangel, Cedjuis Junius Archangel, Melvin Archangel, Rev. Samuel Archangel, Ellis Archangel, Virginia Fontonet, Jessie Archangel, Jr., and Rev. England Archangel. Services were held at Little Zorah Baptist Church. Interment was at Zion Travelers Church Cemetery by Journet and Bolden Funeral Home.

ARNANDEZ, Brother Richard A.
LAFAYETTE, LOUISIANA: Brother Richard A. Arnandez, FSC, 93, died July 4, 2005. He served in the Christian Brothers order for 78 years. He was born January 14, 1912 to Jules Gervaia Arnandez and Eugenie Pellerin. In 1925, he entered the Junior Novitiate of the Brothers. On Christmas Eve 1927, he received his religious habit. Brother Richard started teaching at Cathedral High School in El Paso, TX in 1932, and made his final vows on August 15, 1937. He taught extensively in Texas and Louisiana. After retiring as a teacher, he worked for the Tribunal of the Diocese of Lafayettte until 1989. He resided within the community of De La Salle-Christian Brothers for the past 22 years. He was an organist, composer, linguist and author. Services were held at the De La Salle-Christian Brothers Chapel, followed by burial at De La Salle Cemetery. Arrangements were handled by Martin & Castille Funeral Home.
