Hi James,
Thanks for the package I recieved it
today. I was just wondering if you work with this Betty Anne
Erickson the author of the information that you provided on page
6? I know that these are all researchers of the family and I
don't want to seem as if I'm being a know it all or anything like
that but my husband and I have been working on the old family
cemetery in Pike county Missouri and Barsheba Ingram is burried
there and she wasn't born in 1758 as she has stated and she wasn't
Samuel's daughter she was Jonathan's daughter. We have
articles referring to her as our Jarrot's sister. This is what
is on her headstone:
Barsheba Mabray
Born: February 04, 1798
Died: November 08, 1875
I also have records from Logan county
showing a court case that she was involved with, with her father
Jonathan. Since Jonathan shows up on the county records as
owning land in 1798 I'm assuming that she was born in Logan county
Kentucky which is now Simpson County. We also know that she
married Pleasant Mabray on March 01, 1832 in Pike County
Missouri and remained until her death, they had eight
children. Would you know how I would go about
getting this information changed?
Another thing that I am kind of
confused about here is the different information that is out there
on our Samuel Ingram. The families from Wayne County Kentucky
have James Ingram as being born on June 26, 1761 in Scottland
yet they have him as being one of our Samuel's sons but the
recearchers indicate that Samuel was born in Virginia. Do
you know what kind of documentation they have about the
James in Wayne county Kentucky? I guess the question here
would be are these of the same family or not? Kind of strange
that James being born five years later then our Jonathan was born in
Scottland and Jonathan was born in Virginia as well as their
father. I don't think they made trips back and forth that
often back then did they? Seems kind of confusing
huh.
Also I believe, but I would have to
look it up in all the papers that I have but I think someone had
some writing from their great grandmother or someone that
stated Samuel was an Englishman? Who knows?
Any way I just wanted to say thanks for
all your help and see how I would, or if I should, go
about getting the information corrected about Barsheba.
Thanks agian
Barbara
