The Ministry


Using a natural farm setting, Marvelous Light Ministries addresses the physical, spiritual, and emotional needs of youth and their families with a particular emphasis on differently-abled children and those affected by foster care and adoption.

Shady Creek Farm
A therapeutic teaching farm

“...there is a huge old barn, a bubbling creek and a house that just overflows with God’s children. There is a lush garden full of organic fresh foods to restore the body and thus enable the soul. There are herbs falling out of clay pots, plucked daily for health and culinary delight. Sheep graze peacefully in a meadow, with baby lambs to delight the heart. Fresh milk flows to nurture babies, both the human and animal alike. There are tire swings, slides and a swimming pool for taming the energy of over-active boys. It is a safe haven, as God promised, a place where love is unconditional, discipline fair and within the boundaries of God’s direction. In this place children understand that parents are human and not without fault, but that love is unconditional and without end. It has a pond, and a meadow where we can wander while in prayer, perhaps stopping for a rest and dropping a pebble into the clear water, allowing the rippling water to renew in my mind the analogy of love given away. It is a haven where children are prepared to become the pebbles of love, capable of changing the world because they found their purpose in this place. It will be the promised land where they will be preparing for their eternal destinies.”

Shady Creek Academy is a place where we laugh, learn, love, and grow.
Having many children with differing abilities, it is also our place of challenge, tears, and triumph.


As a family we are thankful for the freedom to choose the academic approach that best meets the needs of our individual children. We also love to share what we've learned with others.

A house of prayer and praise for all people; prayers, healing, praise and worship with an emphasis on generational issues and situations unique to the adoption triad.
