Sunday Drive

Advanced Level


This tutorial is just for fun.I remember as a child going for Sunday drives with my family which inspired this tutorial. Remember this is written with the advanced student because of the animation. You may add any backround or tubes you may like. I just want you to have FUN! I hope to encourage you to make more animations.


What you will need to do this tutorial:
1. PSP 7
2. Graphics and Tubes. Download, unzip. Have open in PSP.

3. Jasc Animation Work Shop.

Let's Get Started:
1. Open a 400x400 transparent image.
2. Open Graphic in PSP. Go to Edit>Copy.
3. Click on Transparent image to make it active Go to Selections>Select All.
4. Go to Edit>Paste>Into Selection
5. Deselect the marching ants.
6. Go to Layers>New Rastar>Click ok.
7. In top color palette select solid color HTML#404040.
8. Click on Selection Tool start at 350 go straight across the graphic and down all the way to the bottom. This is your road look above for the effect you are trying to achieve.
9. Deselect the marching ants.
10. Go to Edit>3D Effects>Drop Shadow:

Settings:
Horizontal 0
Vertical 1
Opacity 70
Blur 4
Color Black

11. Open the car tube in PSP. Go to Edit>CopyPaste As A New Layer. Move the car to the center of your image on the road.
13. Open the tube of the lady go to Edit>Copy.
14. Click on working image go to Edit>Paste As A New Layer. Move her to look like she is driving the car. All the tubes have been sized down by myself so you can move more quickly in tutorial.
15. Open the Layer Palette and click on the eye glasses on the two bottom layers Layer 1 and 2. This will be the graphic and road layer.
16. High light layer 4 in the Layer Palette go to Layers>Merge>Visible. This will enable you to move the car and driver at the same time.
17. Go to Layer Palette and click on the RED X's so those layers will be active now.
**Please note you may add more tubes at this point. By copying and pasting as a new layer. Make sure you merge all tube layers visible. (EXCEPT FOR THE CAR)
***Now we are going to get the image ready to take over and use in Jasc Animation Workshop.
18. Go to Layer Palette and click on the layer with the car my is layer mine is the top layer labeled merged. Click on the eye glasses to make it invisible.
19. Make sure Layer 1 is high lighted in the Layer Palette go to Layers>Merge Visible. You should have only two layers at this point in your Layer Palette.
20. Go to Layer Palette and click on RED X on Layer with car so it is visible now.
21. Move the car off to the right side of your page. I just showed the front of the car. Make sure you keep the car at the same level all the way across your image.
22. Go to Layers>Merge>Visible. This is when you have the car showing like you want.
23. Go to Files>Save As>Car 1 as a PSP file tube file.
24. Go to Edit>Undo Merged Layers
25. Move the car further on up the road. I moved mine till you see the driver.
26. Go to Layers>Merge>Visible.
27. Go to Files>Save As>Car 2 as a PSP file tube.
28. You will repeat steps 24 through 26 till you have the tail of car just showing. I did it with 4 total PSP tubes saved. Tube 3 was in the middle and the last tube showing the back of the car please look at example on top to give you an idea of what I did.
NOW GET READY TO ANIMATE 1. Go to File>Jasc Products>Launch Animation Shop. 2. When Animation Shop is open to File>Animation Wizard.
3. Pop Up Window only check Same Size As The First Image Screen click next.
4. Transparent checked only. Click next
5. Upper Left Hand Corner Of The Frame and With The Canvas Color should be checked only. Click Next.
6. Yes, Repeat the animation indefinitely and type 40 in the box. Click Next
7. Click on Add Image. When the pop up windows appears find where you save the 4 images. Click on Car 4 and then holding down your shift key click Car 1 and now you should have 1 through 4 Car high lighted. Click next.
8. In the last window click finish
9. Go to View>Animation>
10. First my image was too large. So close out the window that put all the images together. Your final tag please close it.
11. Go to Animation>Resize Animation.
12. In the pop up window make sure pixel is checked and make sure no number in either box is higher than 300x300. Maintain Aspect ratio at the bottom should have a check mark. Your animation will be the proper size now.
13. Go to View>Animation. I am satisfied with my image size now. But not happy at the frame property settings. So close out the tag again.
14. Click On Frame 1 to high light right click on it and select Frame Properties.
15. When the window appears type in 40 Click ok
16. Click Frame 2 to highlight right click on it and select frame properties. Type in 40 click ok.
17. Click on Frame 3 to high light it right click and select Frame properties type in 40 click ok.
18. In the last Frame 4 right click and click on Frame Properties type in 75 click ok.
19. Go to View>Animation. If you are satisfied with the movement go and save this as a GIF. If you are not satisfied you can work with the frame properties till you get it the way you want. 20. Go to File>Save As>Name Your Tag make sure you save it as a GIF file.
21. You will receive about 3 more pop up windows after this and just click till they are gone.
