ADMINS, HTDS & TDS
Admins and HTDs are expected to host at least 1 tourney every 14 days. TDs are expected to host at least 1 tourney every 7 days. If you find that you are unable or unwilling to meet this requirement your status will be changed from active to vacation. During the time you are on vacation you will also be unable to play in tourneys. Before creating a tourney check the tourney calendar to see what tourneys have been scheduled to run before and after yours. This will help to ensure that we have a wide variety of tournaments for our members and that the same tourneys are not running back to back. Plan and schedule your tourneys in advance. Make sure that you open check in at least 30 minutes before your tourney is to start. Also plan to be in the lobby of Social Lounge 3 at least 30 minutes prior to the start time for your tourney. Start spamming your tourney in the lobby 30 minutes before start time. Be courteous to other tds who may be hosting tournies before yours. If another td has a tourney scheduled to run close to yours ask to see if they have theirs filled before spamming yours. If not filled ask td's permission before spamming your tourney in lobby. There should not be more than one tourney for Masters being spammed in the lobby at the same time. Spam your tourneys using the league messengers. Lots of members are online at all times and not in Social Lounge 3. Using the messengers to spam your tourneys will help to get them filled. When you create a tourney please make sure that you have the correct rules for the tourney you are running posted on the tournament page. We have new members who may not be familiar with all the variations of canasta that we play. As a TD you need to make sure the rules are corrrectly posted on your tournament page. When scheduling more than one tourney on the same day make sure to allow yourself enough of a time frame between tourneys to efficiently run them. Allow time for MIAs and slow play. Always expect the unexpected. If after scheduling a tourney you have an emergency or problem arise which prevents you from hosting send of the admins a message and we will host the tourney for you. Please do not get into the habit of cancelling tourneys. If neccessary move the tourney to a different time slot. Cancel a tourney only as a last resort. Should a problem arise in the lobby please request that those involved take it to a table. If necessary invite an admin or htd to the table to help resolve the problem. As a td and a representative of our league please do not get involved in arguments in the lobby. Remember at all times our league is judged by how our members present themselves in the lobby. If you encounter a problem with a player or players in a tourney send a message to admin or htd for assistance. Never be ashamed to ask for help or someone else opinion. Use caps only when hosting a tourney. This will help prevent confusion in the lobby. Be courteous to admins, htds, tds, and all members. Never use your status as a td to bully or boss members. Being a td is a privilege not a right. Above all have fun!!
