THE PASTOR by Alan F.J. Raeside (c) 2005Welcome to the Homepage for my book "The Pastor". I took eight months to write it and another four months of revisions. I am somewhat of a perfectionist and a bit of a 'I don't think it's good enough so I'll write it like it should be' person if that makes sense. In short, I never think my work is good enough. It is the story of a pastor (Pastor Mason Malone) who moves from Orange County, California to get away from the terrible memories he has of his beloved wife's (Marion) tragic and violent death. He moves to an isolated desert town in Central California to pastor a church which has recently lost their pastor to what Mason believed was a heart attack. Once he has settled into the foothills town of Granite Hills, he discovers that the previous pastor died of mysterious causes. Quickly he becomes involved in a murder investigation conducted by a rotund and stubborn Sergeant Rodriguez who for some strange reason, confides in Mason. Rodriguez makes Mason privy to information only the Sergeant and a couple of other people know. Before he knows it, Mason is involved in helping the Sergeant solve the murder case and several more that occur within a few weeks of each other.
