This is not fanfiction, and the characters are copyright their respective players Peep(#16498ps)Near white is the closest you could get to describing the dominant colour in this smaller blue's hide. Tiny specks of pale sky-blue and cream flicker into the equation with each movement, dancing across his back and limbs and even down the length of his perfectly formed wingsails.Peep is 0 Turns, 2 months, and 3 days old and is 20 centimeters in length with a wingspan of 33 cm.Imanath carries the whispering chill of between with her, cutting down through low-winds, to hover like some giant, looming shadow above. She hangs in the air like this, wings outspread, for a long moment, then promptly drops, backwinging to a graceful landing to one side of the courtyard. Her rider's quick to disentagle herself from the straps, and jumps down, firing off a quick, "Telgar's duties." To those she spots.Talisha hops down from Imanath, landing on the ground with a soft thump.Talisha has arrived. Giving a little screech, a little flash of blue scrambles up Edris' arm as she stands quietly against the wall of the hold. She reaches up and pets the little creature reassuringly as she peers cautiously across the courtyard at the rider. "Imanath shut up will you!" Talisha spins around on her heel, levelling a sharp -look- at her dragon. Said green gives a sad little snuffle, sinking down so her belly is pressed flat against the cobbled stone floor. "I'm -sick- of hearing about Tavorth this, Tavorth that! We're -not- going to see K'ryn, we're here to visit my family!" So there. Take that. Tali gives a little sniff back to her dragon, narrowing green-gold eyes until she's *sure* that Imanath is going to stay put. "I mean it!" One last slanted look, and she turns about again, casually slinging a scarf or two about her neck while she flounces her way across the courtyard and toward the hold. It's only when she reaches the doors that she notices the small girl with the mass of dark hair, Tali's brows raising up in first surprise, and then recognition. "Is that -you- hiding down there, Edris?" Edris 's nose screws up a little and she rubs at it subconciously with the back of her hand. Bobbing those dark curls she takes a few steps towards the rider, though keeping the dragon definately on the other side of her. "Talisha?" She lifts her head slightly to get a better look "But you don't -ever- come here." Talisha lifts one hand up, to push away stray tendrils of mahogany-streaked brown, the colour likely once as dark as that of Edris'. "What's with all this hair?" She asks, a hint of teasing carrying through in her voice. "Of course I come here." A little puffing out of her chest, lips curving in a grin. "I'm just never around long enough to pay a proper visit. With friends y'know? We usually frequent the taverns mostly." A pause, as she looks the younger girl over. "You sure have grown up. When I left here you were still running about in your diaper!" A little far-fetched, but it gets the point across. Edris brushes her curls up in immitation of her elder sister's and hmmphs in a manner most out of sorts for her. "Well I'm not allowed in the taverns and you haven't visited me." A touch of bitterness? Perhaps, seeing as she's just been told that her sister's friends are more important. Eyes drift over to the dragon and any resentment is replaced by awe. "Is she really yours?" Talisha's green-gold eyes follow Edris' own over to her dragon, a slow sort of grin forming on her lips. "She sure is. /Imanath/..if nobody told you already." She gazes fondly at the great lump o' green sulking in the corner, muzzle cushioned by her forepaws. "But," and she at least decides to respond to the girl's first statement, rather than ignore it as she might once have, "..everytime I /have/ come down to visit, nobody has been around." A little shrug of bare, slender shoulders, hair flicked back behind them. "Always off on some fishing trip or this that or the other. It's not *my* fault." At least not entirely. Edris takes a slightly tentative step closer to the green dragon, one hand instinctively reaching over to hold on to Talisha for support. "Is she -nice-?" She shrugs off Tali's comments rather than have a fight the first time she sees her in simply -turns-. Nevertheless.. she mutters "You could let us know first you know." then hushes as she waits to hear of her sister's lifemate. Imanath peeks one eye open lazily, then stretches her maw as wide as it can go. Big enough to fit a whole human in no doubt. "She's friendly, don't worry!" Talisha assure Edris, a light chuckle escaping from her lips. "And if she whuffles at you, don't worry--it's just her way of saying hi." Another small shrug, as Imanath creeps forward to do just that, her breath a strange mixture of salt, fish and.. /lavender/? Edris jumps back to her her spot on the wall, nearly unhinging the little blue on her shoulder. Again she reassures the small creature, though it's unclear who is actually reassuring who, as the slight blue tail winds it's way wround Edris' neck. "Umm.. hello Imanath." she manages to say rather quietly, glancing over to Talisha to make sure that's the right thing to do. Talisha glances slantwise at Edris, an amused grin bending her lips. "Relax! I swear to you that she's as friendly as anything, and about as lazy as a lump." Imanath edges forward, brightly gleaming talons making little scritch-scratch noises against the stone, quite on purpose if anything is revealed in the slightly amused tilt of her head. She draws in a huge puff of air--then promptly lets it all out in one little puff at the girl. "Imanath, be nice." her rider scolds, lifting one finger to waggle at the dragon. "Otherwise I won't get you any fish." A smirk then, to the curly-headed younger girl, "You can chatter away to her all you like, and she'll listen.. but not very likely respond." "Talk to -her-?" The whole idea is still rather overwhelming. "Ummm.. hmm.." The look that is given to the rider implies that she's already said more than enough to the dragon and as the headshaking slows, a frown starts to form. "How long are you here for?"Edris's hair swings from side to side with the vigorous shaking that her head is doing. "Talk to -her-?" The whole idea is still rather overwhelming. "Ummm.. hmm.." The look that is given to the rider implies that she's already said more than enough to the dragon and as the headshaking slows, a frown starts to form. "How long are you here for?" After leaning down to give Imanath a firm little nudge against her muzzle, Talisha hop-jumps backwards to stand beside Edris again, stooping slightly to peer at the girl's firelizard. "Where'd you pick him up? Pretty looking creature..I've got a bronze, /somewhere/." And the way she says somewhere, implies the creature very likely turns up for a feed and disappears again. "And yes, talk to her. She -does- know a look y'know..she's a huge gossip." A little grin settles on her lips, and doesn't even budge when Edris frowns at her. "Don't know actually, we came because Imanath's after some fish--and I figured here was the freshest place we could pick some up." One hand goes up to her neck, tugging at the vast array of multi-coloured scarf wrapped around her neck. "Here." She offers, puling one--dusky pink and grey--scarf off and dangling it in front of the girls face. "To keep you warm, you look a site. Doesn't..-mother-" that word a little forced, "get you any new clothes?" She still doesn't answer the question. Edris looks curiously at the scarf before she reaches out to nearly snatch it from her sister, as if in distant times she would have been just teased with the gift. Wrapping it around her neck, she shrugs. "Tarla says that there's no need to get new stuff when these fit me just fine." Eyes turn suddenly downwards to examine her clothes and she shrugs again. "And why not when they're warm still." Just as quickly the eyes lift to the other's clothes, and she pffts. "I'd say that they're warmer than those at any rate." Talisha chuckles softly to herself as the girl all but whips the scarf away from her fingertips, drawing her hand back to thrust into a pocket, when she discovers there -are- none on this outfit. "Well," a little nose crinkle, "I don't see why she couldn't get you something a little -brighter-. Really Edris, /brown/ of all colours?" Her brows arch up, green-gold gaze continueing to skim over her littlest sister. "I know a good weaver." She leaves it at that however, grinning as the girl winds the scarf about her neck. "That one was hand-knitted for me the winter after I impressed Imanath." A pause, "So take good care of it." Her shoulders rises and fall non-chalantly on the comment about her clothes, "It's -much- colder at Telgar than here, and I survive." Besides, she has a wool-lined jacket thrown over her shoulders, at least covering up the top's skimpiness somewhat. :Edris turns her head and uncovers the wings of the struggling little blue 'lizard that has become entangled in Edris' attempt to keep it warm with the scarf. "Well I was only trying to -help-." she mutters affectionately, half listening to Talisha at the same time. "We had a weaver here, but he's gone." In typical childish style she changes the topic totally... several times. "i like brown" she says matter of factly, then.. "What kind of fish were you looking for anyway." Trying to smother your firelizard now, Edris?" Talisha's tone is teasing, yet filled with a subtle warmth. "Poor thing, having a pet that covers him up with a scarf." A little shake of her head sends hair cascading over her shoulders, a few dark tendrils pushed behind her ears with a quick sweep of her fingers. "Where'd the weaver go?" She asks, "Brown is okay I guess, but you'd look so much prettier in a nice pink or even grey." Hence the scarf she chose to give her, "/And/ Imanath just wants -fish-. She said there's some nice big ones 'round here." "Pink??!!" Edris's look is near incredulous. " I don't wear -pink-." The colour of the new scarf is momentarily forgotten in her shock at the mere suggestion. "I like brown." she repeats, nodding her head with each word.. then she's silent as she ponders the whole sister with a dragon thing. "Fish.....Oh! There's a big monster fish that lives down off the beach. Maybe she can eat that!' "Yes, pink. It's not such a bad colour...especially a nice smokey one. I'm /not/ meaning some awful bright then, don't worry." Talisha's lips curve in an amused grin at Edris, dimples appearing in both of her cheeks. "But if brown is what you like.. then brown is what you like.." she trails off, bobbing her own head into a quick nod. "Should we go see if Imanath'll catch this big monster then? We can walk, or Imanath can fly us down. Whatever you prefer." Imanath, for the most part, continues just staring at the girl, half crouched, her tail curling back and forth. "She's looking at me funny." Edris says peering round Talisha's body "What if she decides that she doesn't like me?" Unsure of exactly how she's feeling about this whole thing, she's certainly not going to suggest that she get on that great green thing with teeth.. and talons and things that keep staring at her. "Does she float like a boat in the water?" Talisha can't help herself, she finally bursts out laughing at her sister, green-gold eyes all but glittering with laughter. "Trust me, she likes you already." A pause, as her head tilts to one side, and Imanath's does the same. Obviously the two are conversing, finishing up when Imanath creeps forward to whuffle at the girl's hair, sucking in a breath so huge it might almost lift those curls right up. "And she might float like a boat, you'd have to hop on and see though." Tali gives Edris a little wink, motioning upwards to the straps on the green's back. "I'll even buckle you in, so you can't fall off." Edris leaps back again as she gets whuffled, trying to comfort poor little Peep who nearly got sucked up the dragon's left nostril and burrowed into the hair nest in fright. As he calms she narrows her eyes, nowhere near convinced that this isn't some kind of a trick. "We're only going to the beach though. You wouldn't take me anywhere else, right?" She reaches back up, twisting a strand of hair round and round and round between her fingers until it starts to grab at other tendrils and drag them into the knot. "Shells Edris, your acting like I'm gonna kidnap you and have Imanath fly us off to Telgar." A roll of hazel eyes, Talisha making an amused face at the girl. "/Just/ the beach, I promise. Oh and... sorry 'bout Imanath almost sucking up your firelizard there. What's his name anyway?" She reaches forward, stretching just one finger out to offer the tiny critter a little scritch on his head. Imanath puffs out her chest when Tali isn't looking, and opens her maw as -wide-wide-wide as it can go, flaring her wings out to their fullest. Rar. Tali glances at the hair-winding for half a moment, then turns back to start towards the suddenly un-puffed dragon, her brows upraised. "Don't try'n scare her, air-head." Ahh, such a fond name. "So, gonna hop up here or not?" Edris relaxes a little at the attention to her 'lizard almost enough to glare at the dragon. "His name is Peep, cause that's what he does." As if on cue, the said creature pops his head back behind the hair mass again and emerges from the other side. "I'm not scared." she says, taking a step forward towards the beast. "How'd I get up there anyway. It's a long way." "I'll climb up first, and you can watch what I do. It's really quite easy." Talisha gives the younger girl a bright smile, those dimples appearing in her cheeks yet again. "Nice name too, very cute." She grins a bit, at the firelizards antics, then motions to Imanath. The green stretches one of her forelegs out, slumping slightly to the side to make it easier for her short rider to clamber up. Once Tali is seated comfortably, she calls down, "Just do what I did!"Talisha scrambles up the sun-kissed green of Imanath's hide to perch in an unoccupied neckridge.Talisha has left. Edris pays close attention, her lips pursing in concentration. "Can't be that bad" she mutters to herself, obviouly lacking in confidence here but not wishing to look that way in front of this strange woman that is her sister. Taking a deep breath she takes the last few steps forward. The shades of sun-kissed green flow beneath you, across the sleek hide of Imanath. The rippling colours of her hide sweep across and over lacey wings, ready to sweep out in a graceful arc and launch her into the air. You climb up Imanath's neck with the aid of a carefully offered forearm and situate yourself between two neckridges, strapping yourself in, ready to hold on. Talisha turns around easily, having not worried about buckling herself in. "Okay, just lift your arms up so I can wrap this 'round you.." she mutters quietly, grabbing the straps on either side, and giving them a hard yank to pull them snug around Edris. "Feel comfortable to you?" A light 'click' and the straps are buckled in place, Tali squirming back around, hands holding onto one of Ima's neckridges. "Okay, if might be a little scarey at first...but I've told her not to go too fast. Ready?" Edris gives a little nod as it all becomes too much for Peep, who disappears between. "Uh huh.' she manages to get out, though whether that's for the ready or for the comfortable in unclear. Rather pale looking, she sits very still, holding on very tight indeed.>>>> Imanath waits for her rider's signal to take off, flaring her wings out just once, before pushing them down forcefully, whipping up the wind around her as she launches up, and off into the sky.You spread your wings, and take to the air.Sky Over Tillek HoldFrom this vantage point, Tillek looks small, like a model laid out below you. SeaCraft Hall - Fisher Beach(#2278RLa)This long stretch of beach is often used by families and residents from nearby Tillek and Master Sea Holds. A particular favorite of sailors, the pebble-strewn beach forms a grand grey curve between Pern's two largest dockyards, providing a perfect place to watch ships sail out to sea. When the waves pick up, frothy spray crashes against a long breakwater known as the Dragon Rocks, and the thunderous roar of the sea echoes off the jagged cliff backing the gravel-covered shoreline. The winter night thickens as a soft breeze ruffles your hair beneath the clear skies. Tillek Hold's enormous docking cavern anchors the northwest point of the beach, while the bustling shipyards at Master Sea Hold terminate the southeastern tip. A steep path leads up the bluff, away from the 'water' that beats on the shore. Edris nearly starts to lose he footing as she dismounts, stumbling a little into the sand "Wow." she says taking few more steps as if the stumbling was indeed meant to happen. "And you can do that all the time?" Ok.. that certainly scored points in Talisha's favour for disappearing for turns at a time. "Whenever you want?" Peep suddenly appears beside her, chittering anxiously and wrapping his tail around her neck, the tip of his tail finding it's way back under the scarf again as he settles on her shoulder. Talisha laughs, the sound bright and cheerful as she re-wraps her scarves, and tries, -tries- to smooth her wind-tousled hair back down. "Sure I can, and we go between lots too. Wish I could take you but..you know you'd get in trouble." Yes, the parent factor. "/Whenever/ we want to.. Imanath loves flying." The green suddenly takes off again, sending bits and sand skittering up and around as she flies up, over, to land with a loud ka-sploosh in the waters of the beach. "Guess she's looking for that monster, eh Edris?" Edris nods and spits out some sand that had found it's way into her mouth on Imanath's departure. "You could ask maybe and take me somewhere." she says shrugging "If you bother to come back another time." The slightest hint of disbelief is heard but as before she changes topic as she looks out over the water. "Hey! She does float like a boat."Imanath indeed floats across the water, like a little--or rather /huge/--raft bobbing up and down over the waves. Her muzzle is -under- the water, while she uses her tail to push her along faster. "I could ask.." Talisha nods slowly, casting her gaze out across the beach rather than look down and risk getting another frown. "I /will/ come back another time though, promise, okay?" Here she turns, crouching down just in front of the girl, though she's not all that much taller than her. "You do believe me, right?" There's a pause, as she reaches up to try and tug one of Edris' dark ringlets, "I might even bring K'ryn with me next time..he's really nice." 'Edris kicks at the sand not answering immediately, but thinking and watching the green raft. Scrunching her nose she sighs "A -boy-. WHy would you bring a -boy- here?" She brushes off the attempt to pull at her hair and takes the slightest of steps away. "Boys aren't nice, they're just..." And here is where youth has it's disadvantage "..boys." An amused grin finds it's way onto Talisha's lips, her eyes echoing her mirth. "Boys are boys. You are -so- wise." She winks at the girl before she stands, hands instantly going to brush the sand grains from her boots. "K'ryn isn't -just- a boy though...He's...well..." She fumbles around for a suitable word, then catching the expression on Edris' face, settles for a simple, "Nice." Yep, that's the safest word for him. Meanwhile, Imanath dunks herself beneath a wave, thrashing about--you can tell, because the waves get choppier--before finally resurfacing with a few fish clamped in her mouth, those getting swallowed whole. Yum. Edris shakes her head and repeats "Boy's aren't nice." And there you have it, all the wisdom that her 11 turns has accumulated in a nutshel.. boy's aren't nice. "She hasn't caught the monster." She says a little disappointedly "I thought you said that she was going to catch it." "Well, we won't talk about boys then. But don't come running to -me- the first time some guy breaks your heart...cause I'll just remember you telling me boys aren't nice." A firm nod, from Talisha, "And I'll say you should've listening to yourself." She starts wandering down towards the shoreline, her heeled-boots leaving rather deep imprints in the wetter parts of the sand. "Maybe the monster's not down there today? Imanath could have scared her off?" ."Nothing scares it off." Edris' head sets to shaking again. "Someone said that it once at the nanny from Tillek's puppy, and everything." Eyes widen as she tells the tale. " Anyway, I don't think that even something as big as Imanath could scare it off. It's bigger than -her- even." The shaking changes direction suddenly as the head bob.. bob.. bobs sending curls in all directions. Talisha watches the girls head bob-bob-bob with some amusement, lips quirking into another grin. "Settle girl. We'll come back another time, and see if Imanath manages to catch this 'monster' then. And..the poor nanny. I bet she was upset." A little roll of her eyes reveals she most likely thinks that story an entire hoax, her nose crinkling. "But we have to head back home now..we've got early sweeps, and then drills." She yawns just thinking about it. "But I will come back soon." Edris hmmph and keeps the bob-bobbing going for a little longer. "I don't know. It was when I was just a little" She says, cuase she's --so- grown up now. "I think that I'll stay here and watch out to see if the moster comes back when you go." More than likely she just wants to be on her own, but that's not the point. "Can I keep the scarf?" she asks hesitantly "Just until you come back of course." Holding a scarf to ransom, now there's a novel idea. Talisha laughs again, though not in a teasing manner. She has to try and get back onto her sister's good side afterall. "Sure, but don't stay out -too- late, I don't want you getting into trouble just because you wanna watch some monster." A nod then, to her question regarding the scarf. "Of course, I gave it to you didn't I? Just don't loose it or anything, it's kinda special." Being practically an impression gift and all. "I'll see you 'round, Edris." And with that, she clambers up onto the now-dry Imanath, and the pair take off.
