Each
night an empty pocket
Upon the dresser lay
The treasures of my Father
His wealth now on display
No great amount of money
Nor watch of gold he wore
Gave me greater meaning
Than heart I could explore
His smile so sweet and tender
The heart that was so kind
Hands so strong and worn now
As watch would tick through time
I look into the past now
Each night before I rest
See his shadow looming
With love a vision blessed
My pockets now are empty
Like Dad's were every night
Blessed I am with riches
His wisdom brought such light
The treasures that I carry
They are within my soul
Joy of love and caring
These riches make me whole.
