Our 40th anniversary reunion was a success. It was held on December 27th, 1999, at the Mandaluyong City "Kaban ng Hiyas ng Bayan" auditorium, courtesy of our classmate, Norberto Arcangel.
If you missed the reunion and would not want to wait another ten years for the next one, there is this once a year opportunity to reunite with our classmates. The Araullo High School General Alumni Association welcomes all alumni to a homecoming in February of each year. Our class had a big representation last year with our classmates participating in the program. So, if you're around the area of our alma mater at that time of the year - here's your chance.
Congratulations to our classmates who were given the Outstanding Alumni Award by the AGHSAA!! Bayani Elma, for being in the "Who's Who in the Field of Medicine" in North America, for promoting Pilipino culture and tradition in Maryland VA, for initiating scholarships to deserving medical students of UERMMC in the Philippines, and for his various contributions to charity; Fulgencio Factoran, former Minister of Natural Resources, for government service; Manuel de Leon, for working towards increased membership in the Search and Rescue Operations of the auxiliary arm of the Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) and for introducing air rescue during his time as Rear Admiral and Commandant of PCG; and Leonardo Ote, for his contributions to the Geothermal Energy Resource Management, in relation to the industrialization and economic development of the Philippines.
Araullians '59 invite all classmates to become more involved in the group's undertakings. If you wish to find out more about our alumni group and/or the general alumni group, you may contact our president, Emma Santiago Ortaliz, at ortaliz@pacific.com.ph.
I am happy to be in touch with many classmates now. Many thanks to those who gave in to my requests (naggings?) for photos. It is nice to see you again, even if only in pictures for now.
Please do not forget to visit and sign the guestbook.
