The Holstine Family

Several members of the Holstine Family are buried in Fluty Cemetery. I will be trying to locate family information, etc. to more fully develop this page.

Holstine Family Monument

This huge pink granite monument measures x x .

It appears to have been erected at some later time after the deaths of W. H. and Katherine Holstine. Their original fieldstone markers (probably headstones) still stand beside this impressive marker. Matching pink granite headstones (might be considered as footstones) also mark the graves of W. H. and Katherine and are shown below.

This monument is in the center front of the cemetery near the entrance gate and is near Holstine markers and fieldstone markers.

W. H. Holstine Headstone

The full inscription reads:

W. H.
HOLSTINE
OCT. 11, 1853
JAN. 14, 1920

This stone is of pink granite with no decorative elements and measures x x

It is located in the front center section of the cemetery nearest the front gate.

Other Holstine markers and many fieldstone markers are in close proximity.

Katherine Irving Holstine Headstone

The full inscription reads:

KATHERINE
(IRVING)
HOLSTINE
JAN. 11, 1853
DEC. 23, 1938
WIFE OF W. H. HOLSTINE

This stone is of pink granite with no decorative elements and measures x x

It is located in the front center section of the cemetery nearest the front gate.

Other Holstine markers and many fieldstone markers are in close proximity.

The Dec 30, 1938, issue of the "Baxter Bulletin" contained the following (abstract):
'Funeral for Mrs. Holstine at Bakersfield, Missouri. She was the mother of Mrs. Bert Lankford. Burial was in Fluty Cemetery.'
