They say that confession is good for the soul. I totally agree. We stand naked before God day and night. Our every deed and thought is transparent to the Creator. Owning up to our wrong doings, accepting and bareing the guilt when we are guilty is the issue. Having an excuse for everything we do is our way of ducking the guilt. You know that we are all guity of " I did it because.....". God isn't concerned with why we did it, He is only concerned with the fact that we did willfully do it. God gave us choice, and we exersize that choice with every decision large or small. To use an excuse of any kind is to say that "I am not responsible, and since I am not responsible, I am not guilty". You can not be forgiven of something that you did not do or are not guilty of. But when we come to God in all honesty, confessing what He already knows, accepting the guilt and taking responsibility for our own wrong doings, there is no sin great or small that God will not faithfully forgive. Now you may remember hearing about the unpardonable sin, you ask "what about that one and what exactly is the unpardonable sin?" The one and only unpardonable sin is the sin of unbelief. If you believe that there is no God, then why do you bother with feelings of guilt? Those of us who know that God not only exsists but is our heavenly Father also know that we are no different or no better than any other human on this earth. We all are guilty of wrong doings. We will continue to do wrong things, make poor decisions, and willfully hurt others along the way. You say "I have never, or I would never....", oh yes you have and yes you will. Unless someone puts a gun to your head, threatening your life, you made a willful choice and decision every time you lied, gossiped, cheated, took advantage of, and list goes on and on. Now get real people, not one of us is pure of heart 24/7. I am very aware of my short comings, aware of my darker side, as we sometimes like to call it. I try never to play the "holier than thou" games and I try not to be guilty of the "judge now, forgive later" mentality. Notice here that I say that I "try", I would be a liar if I said that I was never guilty of such things. I am sure you have heard such statements as " How can he hold his head up in this community after what he has done? ", come on now, be honest, you probably are guilty of saying it yourself. Have you ever heard someone say " I can't believe that the very moment she walked into the church that the roof didn't fall in on her!" "man she has some nerve to sit up there on the first pew". Any of these phrases sound familar? Well, let me explain to you how he can walk the streets with his head held high and why the church roof didn't cave in. It's very simple, God forgives. If you confess your sins asking God's forgiveness He is faithful and just not only to forgive your sins He also promises never to remember them again. Now if God has forgiven you of what ever wrong doing that you were guilty of and has given His word never to remember them again who are you to keep digging it up? Who are you to remind the world of something that God Himself doesn't remember? If God tells you that you are the righteous of God in Christ Jesus what right do you have to hide in the shadows with your head bowed, shoulders slumped, tail tucked between your legs? NONE, that's right, you have no right or reason to bare the guilt any longer. No one has the right to keep throwing it in your face, whisper about you within their circle their cronies, or mark you with the scarlet S for siner. It is ofcourse their choice to do so, but it doesn't make them right. It makes them mealy minded, small, ignorant people that we should pity. Now back to confession being good for the soul. I am not now nor will I ever be perfect but thing I do know beyond a shadow of a doubt is that I am forgiven.

You that are without sin, hurl that stone, hit me with your best shot. I have confessed my sins and God was faithful and just to forgive me and to cleanse me from all unrighteousness. My sins God remembers no more. If you choose not to forgive, neither will your Father who is in Heaven forgive your sins. For in the same way you judge others, you will be judged. What ever you give, you will receive. Your gift will return to you in full measure, pressed down, shaken together to make room for more, and running over. Whatever measure you use in giving--large or small--it will be used to measure what is given back to you. Beware that you don't despise me because in heaven my angels are always in the presence of my heavenly Father and it would be better to be thrown into the sea with a large millstone tied around your neck than to face the punishment in store for harming one of God's own. I will not be pressed down with the spirit of unforgiveness. I will not spend the precious gift of time with negative thoughts, emotions or deeds aimed at or because of you. I will not waste an hour with worries of what you may think of me. Never the less, you do have choice, and if you so choose, go ahead and hit me with your best shot.

The Debt is Paid in Full

Before a noble jury I had plead my case,
Returning with their verdict with much speed and haste.
The judge pronounced me guilty in the first degree,
I had no excuses, no right for mercy to plea.
Death was the sentence that I was to bare,
I was taken to death row, there my shame to share.
A dark and lonely place where time runs into to time,
Each day is as the last, exsisting with no reason or rhyme.
On that day, they called my name as they unlocked the door,
And I began the walk down death's long corridor.
They read from the book to remind me of my guilt,
That with each wrong doing my own cross I had built.
I knew I was guilty but I did not want to die,
Fear griped my whole body as I trembled and cried.
I fell to my knees and for mercy I did plea,
An innocent man stepped up and said,
That He would die for me.
He said my Father had sent Him there to die for me,
I was to lay my guilt upon Him, He said "put your trust in Me".
Everyone was shocked, who was this man?
He took the book of guilt into His own hands.
It was my crime my own weight I should pull,
But in His blood it is written her debt is paid in full.

MAJESTY

As I look to the mountains high I see,
The wonder of God's strength and majesty.
I know that all is in His control,
Each time I hear the thunder roll.
As bolts of lightening streak the sky,
His awesome power bring tears to my eyes.
My God, my Father and Savior in One,
Humbled Himself as man's own Son.
I think of the lowly life that He led,
How He hung in shame, was battered and bled.
This gift of love He gave to me,
So that I could live with Him eternally

JOY ETERNAL
(In Memory of my Grandmother )

Life is but a vapor, it's over in the twinkleing of an eye,
Seems we've barely just begun, and then it's time to say goodbye.
Love is eternal, forever it lives on,
Once again we'll be together, at the foot of God's throne.
Sorrow for a moment, for joy eternal awaits in the sky,
Look up, joy anticipated, for soon there will be no sad goodbyes.

What's in Your Cup?

The tongue is sharper than a two edged sword.
Words have the power to cut deeply.
Words leave scars and pain that no one can see.
Verbal abuse is a quiet killer. A killer of the spirit.
Words can beat you down until your spirit is broken.
Words have the power to live forever, just as the sound of
your voice echos through the cavern, repeating on and on.
You have the power to over power words!
For a moment think of your soul as a cup.
Someone has filled your cup (soul) of dirty dishwater.
Clouded impure water stagnates within your cup.
Now take your cup and set it under the kitchen faucet
and turn on the water. As the fresh water is added to your
cup what happens to the dirty dishwater? It has no choice but to leave. It becomes over powered by the flood of fresh water and is flushed down the drain into the sewer where it belongs.
God's word is Living Water, set your cup under the flood of His word. Let your cup be filled to over flowing and rise above the scars and pain. Learn who you are in Christ Jesus. See yourself as God sees you. Speak to yourself as God speaks to you.
Tell yourself daily, I am the righteous of God in Christ Jesus.
I am a child of the King. I am who He says I am.
So you see no matter what hurtful things anyone may say to you,
no matter how badly they make you feel,
remember what God says about you and allow
His Living Water to keep filling your cup.
