Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority Incorporated was founded on November 12,1922 on the campus of Butler University by seven Phenomenal women. They envisioned a sorority that would stand strong on the principle of education. The founders believed that the self-respect,knowledge,and discipline gained through education would help individuals recognize their duty and responsibility for their society. Today Sigma Gamma Rho has a membership of over a 100,000 spanning over 460 chapters in the United States, Africa, and the Caribbean. Sigma Gamma Rho offers it's members an opportunity to develop their leadership abilities through leadership training and involvement in sorority activites.
