Chris' Version...August 1996

On August 2,1996...my older sister let me (age 7) and my younger sister, (age 4) spend the night at her house with her two children, then ages 1 and 4.

The following day my sister, nephew, and I went outside to remove bicycles from an attached wash/storage room. As you entered the room, to the left was a hot water heater. The bicycles were on the far back right wall.

I was the first one to go in, then my sister. As my nephew entered, he tripped over a can. I turned around and saw fire. I then yelled run to my sister and nephew!

After we all cleared the room, I ran in the house and told my older sister to grab the baby and run! That fire spread throughout that entire house.

None of us were hurt because God was with us that day, and God is with me everyday!

Never leave gasoline around a hot water heater or anywhere small children will be. It can be dangerous!

Their yard was being mowed on this same day, this person made an honest mistake. He didn't realize children would be removing bicycles from that room while he was mowing and didn't realize the hot water heater was nearby.

I am glad I was there because I may have saved a life. Also, never run into a burning house. Just run for help and yell and scream to get help!
Yesterday is gone... Live for today...

And pray that tomorrow will come.
