| Food Links | We are always ready to try something new in a restaurant or make a new recipe at home. We get a special pleasure from cooking for family and friends. Over the years we have collected and created hundreds of recipes ?Italian, German, French and our favorite, Chinese which lends itself most easily to "Cooking Together". It takes a certain amount of time to develop the technique of "Cooking Together". You must learn each other's cooking habits and idiosyncrasies. You must share the planning, food purchase, preparation, cooking and clean up. Aware of who is doing what and when...if both are trying to prepare the sauce the old adage "too many cooks spoil the broth" may enter the picture. Not knowing, both may add the cornstarch, salt, etc. spoiling the sauce and probably the dish. Make sure you both understand who is responsible for the preparation and each cooking step. As we mentioned "Chinese-Style" cooking is an easy way to begin your adventures in "Cooking Together". Most Chinese recipes require a maximum amount of preparation and minimum amount of cooking time in comparison to Western (French, Italian, German and American) with which the reverse is true. It is easy to share the preparation chores ? cutting meats and vegetables, mixing sauces, etc. |
