Have you ever met a saint? You probably have, but didn`t know it. Many people in our country met Padre Pio because he is a holy man for our time. Padre Pio was one of the holiest men of the 20th Century. For 50 years of his life, Padre Pio wore the stigmata of Christ. A stigmata is a blessing in which the bearer bleeds from wounds in his or her hands and feet as Christ did. He also had the ability to read souls, so he could tell people in Confession their sins before they opened their mouths! He also had the gift of bilocation, the ability to be in two places at the same time. His Masses were extraordinary and were really spiritual. Padre Pio is a great example of a man dedicated to God. He died on September 23rd 1968 and the Vatican just beatified him on May 2, 1999.
