John Bosco is a really cool role model for yound boys. He was a prophet who could tell your future and your past, and he dedicated his life to take care of teenagers. He was born August 18, 1875, and was poor all his life. He had an excellent sense of humor and was an expert juggler and acrobat. He was a lot of fun and could make you laugh!

After having a vision of Our Lord and the Virgin Mary when he was nine, showing him his future, he was determined to become a priest. He worked very hard and was ordained in 1841, at the age of 26. One night he met a boy searching for a place to sleep. He rocognized the need for a permanent place for the boy and his friends. He rented a house and had his mother help take care of the boys.

He helped the boys get educations and find jobs. He put his entire trust in God and built many schools like the Oratory to help young men. While on his to help the boys, a mysterious gray hound named Grigio appeared when he needed help. John Bosco believed he was sent from heaven.

He died on January 31, 1888 in Turin, Italy. He was canonized on Easter Sunday of 1934. He is the patron saint of Catholic publishers and young boys.
