Here are Farzila, Nur'azira with baby and myself. The baby's mom , Aryanti is taking the picture.
Me and Azira we have been buddies since 1987 and that, I may say, is more than a decade! We are ancient pals! Azira is a radiographer in a hospital in New Changi Hospital in Singapore. The three of us, Farzila, Nur'azira and myself, were in the same secondary school, Bedok South Secondary School.
Azira's lifestyle is different from mine, and although we may have different opinions about things, we talk it out and discuss about it. I really love the zest for life in Azira and she will ensure everytime we are together, it is as though it is the last time we are together because we always have lots of fun.
I remembered once, we went to Tioman Island in Malaysia (beautiful island!!), she dragged me to go snorkelling when she knew I can't swim. She went into the water with
the guide and Azira sweet talked me into it. And now I am proud to say that I did snorkelling with Azira! Azira is an outdoor person and we have done trekking through the jungle (in Malaysia of course!) and I remembered it took about 4 hours. We were silent during the trekking, but I know the silence was meaningful
because we shared something new together and we don't have to say anything because we feel how each other felt. My most memorable
memory I had with her was when we were still in secondary school, we always love to go to the beach at East Coast Park, and she would cycle with me, in tandem because I
have yet (still) to learn how to cycle. Oh well, one day perhaps someone can teach me.*shrugs*:)
I asked Azira recently, how did she see me when we first saw each other in 1987, and she said "You looked snobbish!" and I said to her she looked like that too! And now, look where we are.*contented smile*
Azira taught me not to be afraid to do new things, different things because by getting to know new situations, we might learn to love and like it. It is better to have tried something and know what it felt, rather than to just wonder about what would happen and not to do it. The energy I see in Azira is contagious and I am simply touched and elated that we are where we are right now.
This picture was taken just recently in January 2000, and this time I am proud to introduce Azira's other half, her future husband, Azhar Ridhwan Caddy. I gained another good friend in Azhar through Azira. I have never seen both of them happier since their engagement. Their wedding will take place in June, and I am so sad I can't be there as I will be in Adelaide. Congratulations to you both. *still thinking of stuffs to write and pictures to scan*
