This picture was taken in January 1999, just two weeks before I depart for Adelaide to undertake my studies in Flinders University of South Australia. As you can see, the theme colour for our Eid's celebration was blue. Blue happens to be my favourite color and I really loved 1999's colour theme for the Eid Mubarak.

My parents are both teachers and mama is still teaching although she said that she has had enough of teaching after 30 years. This year 2000, she is happily counting the days to her retirement. Papa has retired from teaching and he helps out at home but mostly he spends his time looking after his favourite shares and his favourite daughters. He constantly keeps in tune to the development of the financial world. My sister, Arlinda, is going to attend Temasek Polytechnic in Accounting and Finance. My brother, Arshad, is enjoying spending time at home while looking for a permanent job.

Ahhhh...food. Glorious food! We were invited for lunch at our aunt's place, Mak Long (means: eldest aunt) (unfortunately my aunt is not in the photo) and she cooked so many delicious dishes and one of them happens to be beefsteak with potato. I love anything to do with potato! Mashed potatoes, potato cutlets, french fries, wedges, spuds, baked potatoes....bla bla bla. Hungry anyone?

Here we are in New Zealand in December 1998. Some of the most beautiful scenery I have ever seen can be found in New Zealand as this country has really beautiful natural landscapes. The coach bus stopped briefly to allow us to snap this majestic view, against the backdrop of a mountain splattered with snow. My cousin, Hafizah Hamzah, loves travelling with our family wherever we went and I know that she gained lots of knowledge from travelling to various places with us.
