If you look up Sid Womack on the internet, you will find two sets of stories about me. One set of entries will be professional, having to do with my work as Professor of Educational Curriculum and Instruction at Arkansas Tech University. The other is religious, having to do with the Dover church of Christ, the Mill Creek church of Christ, and West Side church of Christ, all of the Russellville (Arkansas) area.
I understand the separation of church and state--in fact, I teach about it in the Law portion of SEED4503 which is one of my courses at ATU. However, it would be difficult to visualize a Christian who left all mannerisms of the Christian life behind as soon as he began his secular work every morning. It is my hope that I epitomize the Christian life every day at work in habits of pure speech and thought, in earnest hard work in giving my employer his due, and in fairness and consideration of others around me.

Perhaps I have described a dual life. But many, even perhaps most, of the people I see going through teacher education are like myself--they are on a mission. They may be teaching math or biology or music or history,
but really they are about the business of teaching young people to be people of excellent character and loyal Americans.
