Rita's musical style is Contemporary Christian with a touch of gospel. She has a very strong alto voice.

God has given her many new songs which she has had a desire to record however at this time she is focusing more on developing character and Christian leadership through classes at Agape College.

Rita has been gifted with writing and composing music. She has composed and performed songs especially for women's conferences and other special events.

Rita has always loved music from a young age. She has been playing the piano, singing and composing since she was a child. She attended Ouachita Baptist University and sang in several Christian groups in the 80's. She has ministered in a variety of areas from BSU's, coffehouses and youth rallies to women's conferences, children's ministry forums, homeless ministries and nursing homes.

As she accepted the call that God has for her life she began doing research in the "Christian" music industry.

"Some things disturb me. When I saw some of the CD covers and read the ideas of some of these "Christian" singers I have to wonder. Whose image are they trying to portray? I told the Lord, I could care less whether I ever record a CD or not. I just want to go where He leads and reach people who need Jesus in their life or who need a fresh anointing."

"I really thought it was to late for me to start where I had left off. But, God helped me realize - what God purposed in you to do NEVER changes. Even though Abraham and Sarah took matters into their own hands, God still had a promise to fulfil. Rather, He had Abraham's life planned out before Abraham was born. God knew Abraham's ending before Abraham even began. So of course God planned for me to sing before I messed my life up and He was still waiting for me to sing after I gave that mess back to Him. Hallelujah!! I thank my Heavenly Father that even though we change - He Never Does. What He says stands to the end."

She is a member of and employed by Agape Church. As mentioned earlier she will be graduating from Agape College in May of 2008. She is a member of Agape's Sanctuary choir and also a member of their praise team.

She is also the Chief National Director of the multi-racial support group -- A Place For Us. She has been very outspoken concerning racism-especially in the church. In 1995, Rita was honored to receive the Arkansas Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Community Service Award.

Rita and her daughter, Promise Victoria, ministered together a lot as Promise was growing up. Promise is now 20, married to a Christian television producer and recently gave birth to their son. You can read more about Promise at her website at the home page.

Home Life

Until Promise turned 14, Rita raised her in a single parent home. Then God blessed them with a husband and father to help put the finishing touches on Promise.

Personal Testimony

Rita has a special testimony that goes along with her musical abilities. She has dealt with many strongholds in life from racism, abusive relationships and sexual addictions.

Rita has a heart wrenching testimony and word from God that will convict, convince and comfort those who hear it.
