PUNX

Ten steps to becoming a punk

  1. Laugh at the punks.
  2. Buy a button at a concert .
  3. Start buying patches and safety pinning them to your 'concert 'clothes.
  4. Listen to Bands that nobody else at school has ever heard of.
  5. Get a little drunk, a little stoned. Give yourself a very bad haircut.
  6. Try to convince everyone that you wanted it to look that way. Deliberately get a worse haircut.
  7. Get a little drunk and a little stoned. Get either a tattoo or a piercing in a place I can't talk about.
  8. Realize what you've done and become Straightedge.
  9. Turn legal drinking age. Stop being Straightedge.
  10. Hear people laughing at you

The punk links are being redone at the moment.

I like some punk and Oi! music but very few bands have web pages. This is a collection of links to various alternative and punk-type bands.

I asked some friends how I could tell if someone wasn't punk anymore. They told me that if I hear about them they aren't PUNK anymore.

BITCHES!!

I suspect that Punk isn't a style of music. It's more of a community, you know, like Jonestown or the Moonies. However, it's better than listening to something like the BackSpice Boys.

So, this is in honour to all of my friends who insist on protecting their individuality, no matter how stupid they look. Special dedication to HOODRAT.

Here are some links to friends of mine in the Toronto area: Unibombers, and Punk Fiction.
