My Favorite Things. (Modern Version)
By the way, none of those guys are me. (unfortunately!) I'm still trying to get together with a friend to use his scanner in order to put some photos of myself and my friends on the list.
I've been involved in left-wing politics since I was 17 (back in 1978, do the math yourself.) That's also the year that I came out and joined the Gay 'Community'. I can remember how the only bars that would let me and my boyfriend in where Hustler Bars. Since the 'Gay Community' were afraid of being labelled as paedophiles they abandoned Queer Youth to the paedophiles. Me 'n me boyfriend of the time were into the 'Blues Brother' look (that I only found out later was the Ska look)
In 1980, I moved with my folks to Germany, where I worked for the Canadian Military. I lived there until 1986. While I was there I got involved with the ECMC (European Community of Motorcycle Clubs/Europe's largest leather organization) and HIOB (Homosexuelle Information Ortenau Baden). I also changed from being a non-observant Jew into a (somewhat) observant Jew. I dressed as a Traditional Skinhead, but the only people I knew of who called themselves 'Skinheads' were Fascisten. (I wish I could find a photo of me and my scooter)
I've lived in Toronto since 1986. When I came back to Toronto, skins and punks were barred from all the Gay Clubs. (Lovely Community isn't it). I let my hair grow out a bit and became active in the scene here in Toronto. One year I was on the Pride Day Committee. I've also been a member of the Right-To-Privacy committee , the Lesbian and Gay Archives, the Judy Garland Memorial Bowling League, A gay Sci-Fi Club, AIDS Action Now, Singing OUT! (Lesbian and Gay Chorus) and the (get this) Ad-Hoc-Committee for the Formation of a National Lesbian/Gay/ Bisexual/Transgendered Organization in Canada. Try saying that in one breath!
So the point of all of this, I get my merit badges for participation in the "Queer Community". However, since I am NOT a white, anglo-saxon, middle-class consumer princess there is no place for me or my friends in the 'Gay Community'. The 'Gay Community' is nothing more than a marketing scam.
Myself, I am a SkinHead Against Racial Prejudice. Here are some of the writings I've gotten published. If you're looking for snuffporn,or pro-White Power go elsewhere.
First a story about Me and Mordechai. Then an article for a Jewish magazine about being A Synagogue Skinhead. I just found out that it has been republished on another interesting site . And the latest article I got published in the Anti-Fascist Forum about Homosexuals in the Nazi Party.
I also have a set of articles that were published last year in a Canadian Jewish magazine, known as Images.
The first article was actually written back in 1992 for a proposed magazine that never got it's first issue published. I was surprised, looking back at it, that I had claimed Skin in the article back in 1992. This is my first piece accepted for publication and it's about my experience at a Conference for Lesbian and Gay Jews in San Francisco.
The second piece was a basic information piece on Hate on the Internet.
The third piece requires a bit more context. It was written in the time period
between an ugly anti-Roma (gypsy is an insulting term) demonstration here in Toronto
and the Jewish festival of Liberation, Passover. I try to make connection between
discrimination against the Roma and historic discrimination against the Jews.
Basically, I'm trying to get the people reading the article to make the connections
and try to help. It was published in February 1998 under the title of Remember When You Lived in Mitsrayim
