A form of music that was brought from the dancehalls
of Jamaica to the streets of England. Ska sounds like a mix between Big Band
Jazz and Reggae. The Original Skinheads in England in 1969 adopted the clothing
, the dancing and the music of the Jamaican Rude-boys much like white teenagers
in the 1990s have adopted the B-Boy look from the Black intercity communities in
the United States.
The general symbol
of Ska is the black and white checkerboard which represents Unity and Respect
between Black and White people.
