AHR

AHR is my own Kart team. AHR stands for Andrew Hayes Racing. We currently run two karts for myself and my Dad. The team began in June 1994 when I raced for the first time. I was using an Australian made 1993 Seeger chassis coupled with a Yamaha KT100J engine. I was third in the rookie class that day.

Since then I have had mixed results. I moved to Juniors at the beginning of 1995 and was still on a steep learning curve. But in June that year I managed to take victory in the Warrnambool open meeting. This would be my only major win in the junior classes.

Being quite tall, I was usually over the class weight so I was desperately awaiting the chance to move to seniors, where i could finally race on even terms. The opportunity came after my 16th birthday in 1997.

Since then I have been a front runner at almost every meeting I have attended. This has been aided by the late 97 purchase of a superb Arrow AX6 chassis(similar to the one pictured above). My karting career hit a high in 1998 with several top performances. If everything goes to plan though, I wish to move into cars in the near future.This will be the biggest challenge of my life.

- Qualified 8th at Victorian Open Championships in Senior National Heavy

- 3rd Place, Round 1 Victorian Country Series(West) at Horsham

- 3rd Place Overall, Victorian Country Series(West)

- 2nd Place, Hamilton Club Day, 1st race in Clubman class

- 2nd Place, Round 1 Victorian Country Series(West) at Mildura

- 3rd Place, Round 1 Green Triangle Series at Hamilton
