The story of the death of Robert Bell Odom is that he had some large tie tracks in the back of his carriage on a cold winter day and he hit a bump and some of them fell out. When he went to pick them up and put them back into the carriage, he broke out in a sweat and got pneumonia. He died two days later. His widow, Elsie McKinney Odom then married Sam McKinney.
