Thomas and Hazy Matilda Pyatt McGuire

Hazy Matilda Pyatt was born c1837 in Burke County, North Carolina, to William and Cynthia Fox Pyatt. She married (probably in Cherokee County, North Carolina) Thomas McGuire who was born c1833 in Monroe County, Louisiana.

Thomas and Hazy had the following known children:

It is possible that there were other children born after the 1880 census enumeration. It is unlikely that there were more children amongst these as they are so close together.

The family appeared as follows on the 1860 census of Cherokee County, North Carolina (Fort Humbree Twp):

This family was enumerated #1341/1341 (Ancestry.com image 38/38). Living next door were Nicholas and Pheby McGuire. Hazy's parents and sister, Sarah Mira Pyatt Ferguson, were still in Cherokee County, North Carolina, and her brothers, John S Pyatt, Joseph Alfred Pyatt, and William Calton Pyatt had all moved to Wright County, Missouri. If Hazy's sisters, Nancy and Eliza, are still living - I did not locate them.

By the 1870 census of Murphy, Cherokee County, North Carolina, the family appeared as follows:

This family was enumerated #85/85 pg 301A (Ancestry.com image 29/39); next door neighbors were Josiah and Liddie McGuire. Hazy's mother was living at household #17 with her daughter, Sarah Ferguson.

The family was still in Murphy Township, Cherokee County, North Carolina, on the 1880 census as follows:

This family was enumerated #205/215 pg 260A (Ancestry.com image 25/47). Had Francis and Eliza died or married by this time? I could not find the family of George and Sarah Ferguson living nearby. By this time, Hazy's mother had moved to Wright County, Missouri, and appeared with Hazy's brother, John S Pyatt. Her other brothers were still in Wright County, Missouri.
