Helen Baker Rachford is the Granddaughter of Allie Piatt Taylor - daughter of Jackson P. Piatt and Barbara Ellen Chamblin or Shamblin. Grandmother Allie Piatt's brothers are: Hamer, George, William, Mark; her sisters were: Nora Piatt Price, and Emaline Piatt Hurd. 'I know so little about Grandmother Allie, however I have found some on her Grandparents, Benjamin Piatt and Elmira Lavinia "Myra" Bayless. Does anyone have any info on this line of Piatts from Adams Co, OH? I cannot find anything on Allie Piatt Taylor.'

According to John Piatt jdpiatt@aol.com, Jackson Piatt had a step-son with the name Hamer. Many records were destroyed in a courthouse fire in 1913 in West Union, Ohio. 'I do not remember a Nora personally, but have heard relatives speak of her. I did personally know my great uncles: George, Bill, and Hamer. Hamer was a stepson. I also knew Emaline. George lived along Dry Run in West Portsmouth for years with his wife Margaret. Bill lived in a place called either Turkey Creek or Blue Creek. His wife was Alice (I believe an Ailshire by birth). Emaline lived in a place called Greenbriar. The last two being in Adams County. I do already have a copy of Jackson's death certificate. I have lost track myself with all the cousins.'
