Diddy Kong is the only member of the DKR cast to have survived the dark ages of the 16-bit SNES in the famous Donkey Kong Country Trilogy. The DKC Trilogy contained by far the best games for the Super Ninendo in my mind, just beating Rareware's other classic game 'Killer Instinct'. In Diddy's Debut, the original Donkey Kong Country, him and his older partner Donkey Kong were on a mission to save the Kong's banana hourd from King Krool and his army of Kremlings. The following two sequals, DKC2: Diddy's Kong Quest and DKC3: Dixie Kong's Double Trouble, both starred Diddy Kong despite Diddy and Donkey only featuring in a tiny scene at the end of DKC3.
In Diddy Kong Racing, Diddy, being the main character, has the responsibility of being the overall middly character! He is a medium-weight with medium acceleration, medium top speed, medium handling and well, you get the idea. Even though he doesn't seem to be a very good character, when computer controlled he seems to win every single trophy race! Good on the Future Fun Land tracks.
Diddy will soon star in a new Donkey Kong County game, Donkey Kong 64, along with Donkey, Tiny, Chunky and Lanky Kong in what promises to be the best game of 1999.
